Doors open 7pm A warm welcome to our fifty fourth season of concerts in the lovely setting of St. James’ Church. Richard Stephens is to be congratulated on providing a superb array of fine musicians which make up an attractive and varied programme of concerts to delight us through the winter months. We welcome Roger Davies as our new Treasurer, and say a huge ‘thank you’ to retiring committee members, Joan Holden, Mike Sporton and Mike Clifford who have contributed much over many years. Sadly, and despite many requests and approaches to members, we have been unable to fill the vacant post of Visits’ Secretary, and for this season at least, there will not be organised visits to Birmingham. In common with many other organisations in Campden, it appears increasingly difficult to find individuals who will fulfil such roles. The search will continue! neighbours to join us. The membership income remains fundamental to our ability to continue to bring superb musicians to Campden. The Society is most fortunate to receive the continued support from a number of local businesses through sponsorship and advertising for which we are most grateful. Please support them whenever you can. Please note: The next AGM will be held on Monday 13th April 2015 at 7.30pm. in the Church Rooms. It now enjoys a busy concert schedule performing throughout the UK and abroad. The ensemble’s flexible configuration and collaborative spirit has led to performances with leading musicians including Sir Thomas Allen, Richard Sisson and Gabriel Prokofiev. The group was proud to premiere its first commission, Michael Berkeley’s Clarion Call and Gallop, in 2013 and features the piece on its debut recording of the same name, praised by Gramophone for ‘the vibrancy of the Berkeley Ensemble’s performance.’ The Berkeley Ensemble is building a reputation for innovative and thought-provoking programming.
