In this effort to addreess and advocaate for change of Human Rights at Risk in Myanmar, M LWFF aims to work with parttner agencies, ACT Alliance aand others to engage e with thhe UPR processs in a targetedd way, to achieve impacct in specific priiority areas. October: Research of Literature from 1st UPR In country consultations with stakeholders and Internet research 1-3 October: YANGON Workshop to learn about the UPR Process (Equality Myanmar) 5-7 October: MANDALAY Workshop to learn about the UPR Process (Equality Myanmar) 27-31 Octoper: UPR Workshop in Yangon with Geneva DWS and DTPW and Nepal Colleagues invite ACT Forum Members and focal points to coordinate and touch base on HR issues researched. Decide together on steps and responsibilities in order to complete the report and how to disseminate recommendations amongst our stakeholders at international level. (Advocacy Plan post submission of Parallel Report) November: LWF will Run Human Rights at risk survey in Kayin, Chin, Delta, Rakhine December: Township level Consultation meetings to raise HR issues in LWF Project Locations January: Write up of the Report, January 15th: 1st Draft submission of Parallel Report to LWF February 1st 2015: Deadline for Parallel Report Submission to OHCHR February 1st 2015: Deadline for submission of first draft of the manual February 15th 2015: Deadline for the final draft of the manual Manual Skeleton: a) b) c) d) e) f) 4. Identifying and building alliances/coalitions, positioning LWF as UPR actor Linking national and international level activity to local level input and impact Identifying 5 UPR issues which reflect LWF priorities Coming up with SMART recommendations Working with the government on embedding civil society input into the state report Maintaining the coalition and ongoing leverage on accepted recommendations Quality expectations a) A soft and a hard copy of the final first draft of a manual must be submitted. b) Good relations with all involved stakeholders must be kept. 5. Time period for the assignment The time period for the assignment is five months between 27th October 2014 to 28th February 2015. 6. Qualifications of Consultant a) b) c) d) Excellent command of English language Relevant experience in advocacy forums. Ability to present sensitive information in a diplomatic manner There needs to be a suitable mix of skills in the consultant that will strengthen LWF (Myanmar) staffs in gender, Human Rights knowledge and legal language. e) Previous experience with LWF is highly valuable 7. Ownership of Manual The manual produced will be the property of LWF Myanmar, who will apply it in whatever way they wish. If the document includes sensitive matters, LWF Myanmar reserves the right not to publicize all or part of the document.
