With only 5 weeks to go until Fete day, planning and work is really underway! Wristbands and Tickets! In this edition: - All the ways you can help the hard working stallholders - See the Program for Fete Day - It’s time to order your wristbands and tickets! - the working bee - Cake kits…and much more!! Rosters Every school family is needed to do AT LEAST one shift on a roster – many hands make light work! Our fantastic stallholders have been meeting regularly, to discuss their stalls, bounce ideas of each other and to provide ideas and feedback. It’s always a productive, well-attended meeting, and the time these volunteers are giving to the fete is amazing, and really appreciated! Feel free to contact a stall holder directly if you’d like to get involved. We will need everyone’s help to make this event a success, and we look forward to everyone’s participation on what will be a great day for APS. We are delighted to let you know that the wristbands and tickets for the fete are now on sale, via flexischools. It is cheaper to buy your wristbands in advance, and this offer is also extended to all family and friends of Auburn Primary School. The wristbands mean you can go on all the rides all day, and the tickets can be used at every stall at the fete. Every family will need to help in at least one roster time slot. These rosters are online, so you can easily chose the stall and time you would like to work on. We will also need people for gate security/information. If you are interested in helping in a particular stall, please contact the stallholder, or one of the fete coordinators. Now that the Schedule for the day has been released, it’s easy to pick a time that suits your family! Trash & Treasure, Second Hand Books… There has been lots of interest in the ‘logistics’ for dropping off your trash and treasure! We’re pleased to let you know the following details - Trash and Treasure will be able to be dropped off at school from Friday 10th October (that’s the first Friday of Term 4), to Mrs Lane’s ‘old’ office in the Senior Building. So get sorting and decluttering, and hold on to your T&T till then! (No electrical items or clothing please). We are happy to accept and store books now – if you have any questions, or th would like to drop books off before the 10 October, please contact: Caroline Hawker [email protected] or Rowena Syme [email protected] Can you fill a few Balloons for ‘Water Bomb a Teacher’? I am looking for numerous helpers to fill a tub of water bombs at home to bring along in time for the infamous ‘Water Bomb a Teacher’ Stall at 2pm. I will provide water bombs and instructions. Even your children could do this job for the School! Please email me ([email protected]) if you can help or call me on 0419 556 436. Fiona Griffiths Working Bee! Once again, a school working bee is being held the Sunday th before the fete – October 12 9.30-12.30pm – so the school is looking amazing for the big day! If you are NOT a stallholder, this could be a way to contribute to the fete in a really helpful way! Once again, many hands make like work – the kids have a great time, and it’s a nice social way to help out the school. Even if you can only help for an hour, it’d be appreciated! Calling for all marquees! If anyone either owns or has access to a marquee that could be used on fete day, please let one of the fete coordinators know! J Fishing Pond Game!! The very popular fishing pond game needs one of those blue clam shell ponds to use on the day – if anyone has one, could they please contact Kirsten Licheni [email protected] Did you know…? At the fete, children’s haircuts will be available for only $10, from the fabulous Paula Gill! Get there early to book your time! Getting your hair done? At the gym? In your favourite local shop or restaurant? Why not ask for a gift voucher for our school fete as a prize for the Spinning Wheel? Any gift certificates or donations such as cookbooks, beauty products, homewares, sporting goods, or anything you think would be a good prize for our spinning wheel, please leave with Deb at the office, one of the Fete Coordinators, or in one of the tubs in the 1/2 Building! Basketball Shoot Out Excitement is mounting for the Basketball Shoot out at the Fete! A highlight of the day will be the 1pm Teacher's Basketball Game - so students, ask your teacher if they're playing! To make the stall a success I still require more bulk prizes such as drink bottles, bunting (flags), a small marquee and a sturdy basketball ring/system on wheels that's located within a short walk of the school. If you can help, please contact Natalie Grummitt on 041 999 7311. Alternatively, jump on the google doc roster and help on the day. I can guarantee it will be loads of fun! SUPPORTING OUR BASKETBALL SHOOTOUT Lucky Wine Stall Thank you to all those who kindly donated wine during last weeks 'wine drive'. Please keep the donations coming! Bottles of $15+ can be left at number 7 Condor Street in the 'wine donations' box placed at the rear of the driveway. We are looking forward to a well stocked stall! Please label your generous donations with approximate cost ($15 or above) so we can sort bottles accordingly. Here's cheers Bec Speed and Bec Metz Plant Stall We need your quirky pots and containers (for example, fish bowls, old teapots, large plastic toys, large jars, planter pots), as well as plants and succulents. Hessian (eg. from coffee bean bags) is something we really need - if anyone has any connection to a cafe/roaster that would be super. Please contact Mariko [email protected] Auburn’s Famous Cake Stall! Auburn is famous for our cake stall – and we have lots of loyal bakers that we want to thank up front for your help with this stall on ongoing highlight. Cake kits will be going home before the school holidays so that you can plan your fabulous baking projects. We are looking forward to receiving all of your wonderful items. If you can, we would love to see some of our cakes from our cook book that will be delivered early in Term 4. Here are a couple of reminders for the cake stall: • Please use the cake kits provided • You will be able to get more from the office if you need more • If you cook and have no kits just send in containers and we can repack as long as we have ingredient list, name and date cooked • You will be able to deliver Friday and Saturday • Thanks to all those that have volunteered but we would love to see more of you on the roster • Please don’t freeze items as we are selling fresh and then our buyers can freeze if they need too • Please don’t send items with cream as we cannot refrigerate so cannot sell – stall girls would be forced to eat any such items! • There will be a separate biscuit stall at the fete that involves the years 5/6’s so please don’t send smartie biscuits, choc chip or anzac’s as they will be sold through our biscuit stall. • Additional copies of our cookbook BAKE will also be available at the cake stall, biscuit stall and 125 celebration area. Thanks in advance for your help. We look forward to a great day! Cake Stall Girls Wristbands and Tickets! A final reminder to pre-purchase your tickets and wristbands now through flexischools!
