Twenty Years in the life of this library Afternoon Tea Friday October 10th @ 3:30 October 2nd marks a special anniversary here at the library. On that day in 1994 the Elgin Public Library became a department to the City of Elgin and Sandy Ott became a new city employee. Sandy has continued to work with the Friends, the city, and the community to build on the vision that the founders had in 1986 when they started the library. From a storefront to the beautiful building that stands on Main Street today, we have come a long way. Please join us in our celebration of this milestone on Friday October 10th with an afternoon tea to honor Library Director Sandy Ott and the beautiful library we now have.
