NEW DISCIPLESHIP CLASSES
Sermon Notes
COME HOME by James McDonald (For Men & Women)
Wednesday Evenings, October 15th - November 12th
Facilitated by Steve Davis, Cost - $12
God is very concerned for individuals who wander from the truth and find themselves far from Him. There are multiple examples of wanderers in the Bible, such as Peter,
Thomas, Samson, and the prodigal son. These biblical characters represent the variety of
qualities found in people who wander today; fearful, doubtful, sensual, and willful. Come
Home is an invitation to all wanderers and to those who love them. It is a call to a greater
awareness of the disconnected and hurting and a challenge to believers to bring back those
who are missing.
Date: October 19, 2014
Speaker: Rev. Bill Ricketts
Senior Pastor

Focuses on Parenting - Christian parents are not seeking mere behavior
modification in their children, but the growth of truly godly passions. “Training a
child up in the way he should go” must be done intentionally, with the mind and
heart of God. Based on Psalm 127, this study explores the wisdom of the Bible
regarding the goals of parenting, the stages of discipline, the role of the church, and
strategies to shape the heart toward the gospel.

Real life is long on law and short on grace - the demands never stop, the failures
pile up, and fear sets in. Anyone living inside the guilt, anxiety and uncertainty of
daily life knows that the weight of life is heavy. We are all in need of some relief.
Tullian Tchividjian, Billy Graham’s grandson, calls the church to abandon our
play-it-safe religion and to embrace God’s unflinching grace which changes our life forever.

CHILDREN (Kindergarten - 5th)
The family worship experience is a core value of Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
That’s why we periodically take a break from our regular Sunday morning programming to allow families to worship together in “Big Church.” We will be having Family
Worship Sunday next week, October 26th. There will be no 252 Basics programming and we encourage our families to worship together at the 10:30 am service.
Ralph Byrd is teaching a new multi-generational class which meets
in Room 1123 at 9:15 am. The focus of this class is to help adult
men and women of all ages and backgrounds to GROW and
THRIVE in their personal walk with Jesus. The class is currently
studying Exodus and it’s application for personal discipleship. If you
are not currently attending a Sunday School class, please come
visit!

This is a great opportunity for families to attend. In addition to a speaker,
there are interactive displays regarding Bible translation. This exposes the entire
family to a ministry that not only needs support, but needs translators. There are
still 2000 people groups in the world without one word of the Bible. Perhaps
God will use this to show you how you can connect with Wycliffe through
praying, giving, or going.
DRIVERS NEEDED
We are looking for drivers who
would be available on Sundays
to drive members back to
Lanier Gardens after the
Worship Service. You would
be driving one of the church’s
mini buses.
If you can help, please contact
Bill Harvill at 678-753-3100.
Get involved with the Sunday
morning coffee production by
