Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy Michigan’s #1 Choice in Volleyball Training Beast of the East Volleyball Tournament
Hosted by Troy High School
Format:
There will be eight 4 team pools. Pool play matches will best 2 out of 3 games. First two games to 25
with no cap. 3rd game to 15 with no cap. The top 2 teams in each pool advance to the Gold, the third
place team advances to silver, and the 4th place team advances to bronze. All playoff matches will be
best of 3 with no cap. Tiebreaker in pool play will be head to head, pool play game % (3 Way Tie),
pool play point differential, and coin toss. Seeding order is pre-determined on the brackets.
Coaches Meeting:
Coaches meeting will take place in the lobby at 8:10 to give the schedule for the playoffs. Vince
Muscat and Kristin Eddy will be running the day and format. Any questions can be directed to them
at the coaches meeting.
Awards:
Trophy will be given out to the champion and runner up. There will also be an All-Tournament team.
Each coach will have 3 votes to cast for players from their pool for All-Tournament Team. Rules on
voting will be further explained at the coaches meeting. All-Tournament team will be decided and
announced on the Tournament Central Board. Medals will be awarded to the All-Tournament Team.
Warm up:
Warm up for the team’s 1st match will be 4-4-1. No warm up after first match.
Time: Play begins at 8:30 a.m. Doors open at 7:30 a.m.
Balls WILL be provided then put away after match 2 warm up
Parking is limited to the BWSC parking lot and the side street to the west of the building on Denton.
Champane’s Wine Cellar & Marketplace is available for parking!
Park only in designated parking areas. Be aware that the City of Warren will tow cars, at the cost of
the auto owners, that are parked restricted areas. Busses must drop off on Denton. No busses
allowed in the BWSC parking lot for drop off or parking.
TENTS CAN BE ON THE GRASS BUT CANNOT TAKE ANY PARKING SPACE!!!
Food: Because of the amount of teams attending and the limited space, teams are NOT
allowed to bring in coolers, food or drinks. Players may bring sack lunches and Gatorade in
their duffle bags. No food spreads are allowed. We have full concessions available with
Subway, Fruit from Nino Salvaggio’s, Buddy’s Pizza and drinks. Please insure that your
parents and players are aware of this to avoid any issues the day of the tournament.

PLAYOFF SCHEDULE:
- Playoffs will start with ALL Gold 1st round matches played on all 8 courts. After the 1st Round
Gold Matches are completed, ALL Silver and Bronze 1st round matches will be played. Once the
Silver and Bronze 1st round matches are played, Playoffs will condense to Gold on courts
1,2,3,and 5. Silver will be played on courts 4 and 6. Bronze will be played on courts 8 and 9.
Gold finals on court 2, silver finals court 5, and bronze finals court 6. Ref for first round of playoffs
will be lowest seed in next match. A bracket will be available and set up at the coaches meeting.

Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy Michigan’s #1 Choice in Volleyball Training Coaches,
It is not too early to think about the 2015 High School season. We are looking to provide you with a
numerous variety of tournaments for the season. This season we had a very successful tournament
year and we look to grow on that in 2015. Please keep these dates in mind. They are tentative but
we are looking to lock them in very soon.
- 6th Annual Program Invite. All Three teams must attend (9th, JV, and Varsity). 2014 Champion was
Marian High School. September 12th (9 Programs – 27 teams)
- 2015 Beast of the East. THE biggest and most competitive High School tournament of the year.
Date next year will be October 17th. This tournament is INVITE only. 32 teams will be the cap.
