Management quality and
industrial excellence
On the one hand, traditional leadership approaches focus on values, qualities and behavioural styles. Yet, these approaches often fail to account for change in organisations and do not unleash lower and middle management’s full potential. Strategy deployment, on the other hand, focuses on activities leaders should pursue, as these are
easier to change. Engaging shop floor personnel in continuous improvement activities
and distributing leadership across all management levels creates a focused organisation with high emphasis on process execution. The goal of the focused organisation is
clear: Avoid getting stuck in daily routines to free resources for process improvement,
development and execution.
