The 2nd Annual Houston Toy Run is a great success. Gathering at the Houston A&W , 31
bikes with passengers went first to Topley where Bug Run targets were sold to riders. Off to
Granisle where we were escorted in by Granisle's Community vehicle, lights and sirens.
Lunch was donated by Bill's Restaurant. We were toured around Granisle and posed for a
group photo with Babine Lake in the background. Back to Topley where the bug splats were
judged by Liv and Sam. Half the $160 raised goes to the Alzheimer Society and the winner,
Lainie, donated a big portion of her win to the run. When we arrived at the Salvation Army,
Christmas Boxes held all of the toys gathered. Donations of cash, a cheque and gift cards
totaled $438.70 were presented to Rick Apperson of the Salvation Army. It was a great day,
fun and for a wonderful cause. We want to thank all our supporters, plus Paul of A&W Houston (free coffee) Bill and Pat Campbell of Granisle, (Bill donated his tip money back to the
kids) the Village of Granisle for their warm hospitality, to Jim and Adele of Grizzly Jim's General Store in Topley who had a collection jar with $63.65!
