Pressure Infuser with Adult BP Cuff According to Florida Administrative Code 64J-1.003 Table II Ground Vehicle ALS Equipment and Medications, an I.V. Pressure Infuser is to be routinely carried on all permitted ALS units. I am permitting the use of an adult blood pressure cuff as a substitution for the I.V. pressure infuser, after careful consideration and input from system clinicians. The adult blood pressure cuff that is being used as the substitution is to be separate from the state required equipment listing for adult blood pressure cuffs, per Florida Administrative Code 64J-1.0003 Table II. __________________________________________ Laurie A. The universal adjustable style c-collar also results in cost and inventory savings. The AMBU Perfit Mini-Ace brand adjustable style c-collar or the AMBU Perfit brand ccollar, individual sizes Pediatric and Infant, will be utilized as the best solution for stabilization of known or suspected spinal injuries in pediatrics and for stabilization of the neck of an intubated pediatric patient to prevent accidental extubation. _______________________________________ Laurie A. I am permitting the removal of burn sheets from each permitted ALS unit, after careful consideration, communication and concurrence with the same from Tampa General Hospital Burn Center, the regional burn center for Pinellas County EMS. Additional input was obtained from the American Burn Life Support Course (ABLS). __________________________________________ Laurie A. Regular cotton blankets are purchased for use in the system in addition to a custom OB kit containing multiple cotton baby receiving blankets. Both of these options provide the necessary warmth for the variety of patients encounter in the system. I am permitting the substitution of the noted blankets in the system for the “One Thermal Absorbent Reflective Blanket”. __________________________________________ Laurie A.
