County: Improving Communities through
Multi-agency Integrated Data Systems
(IDS)
The Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas
County, FL is exploring the relative
contributions of putative causal factors
related to absenteeism using variables
contained in two Integrated Data Systems
(IDS). JWB is using a nested model to
explore the influence of school and
community contexts on variables shown
to be related to absenteeism. With the
help of Heller School for Social Policy and
Management at Brandeis University, Child
Opportunity Index scores were computed
that are Pinellas County centric.
Knowledge gained from this research will
be used in policy recommendations for
JWB and its community partners.
