TRIMBLE 5700 L1 GPS SYSTEM The upgradable L1 GPS system

TRIMBLE 5700 L1 GPS SYSTEM
The upgradable L1
GPS system
The Trimble® 5700 L1 GPS receiver is an easyto-use GPS receiver especially developed for
static, L1 FastStatic, and kinematic surveying. It
offers proven Trimble GPS technology in a flexible
and cost-effective solution.
Team the rugged Trimble 5700 L1 with the
Trimble Recon™ controller 1 for a GPS system
with the toughest specs in the industry. The
Trimble 5700 L1 will increase your efficiency and
productivity on any job and in any environment.
One solution for GPS field work and
postprocessing
The Trimble 5700 L1 GPS system provides
a single solution for GPS field work, data
processing, and data transfer to a design
system. Collect short and medium baselines
on L1 GPS surveys, then perform sophisticated
postprocessing and network adjustment in the
powerful Trimble Geomatics Office™ software.
You can transfer the postprocessed data into
a design package such as Trimble Terramodel®
software.
Establish control points, measure existing
boundaries and monuments
Establishing control points with GPS is radically
faster than with conventional instruments:
• Set up easily: Mount the Trimble 5700 L1
and Trimble A3 antenna on a tripod and begin
control surveying with just one button press.
The receiver’s simple interface takes almost no
time to learn.
• Work fast: Following its quick and easy setup,
the 5700 L1 ensures consistent tracking of
GPS satellites, thereby minimizing observation
time and maximizing the quality of your data. Its
advanced Trimble Maxwell™ technology provides
proven GPS capability you can rely on.
• Get better results … fast: Back in the office,
download the field data into the Trimble
Geomatics Office software to quickly process

Key Features
baselines. You can generate subcentimeter
positions in a least squares network
adjustment, even from mixed GPS
and terrestrial observations.
Perform topographic surveys
To perform productive topographic surveys in
any environment, mount the 5700 L1 on a
pole with the Trimble Recon controller running
your choice of Trimble field software. Use the
controller to enter point information and adjust
receiver settings. The Trimble 5700 L1 supports
postprocessed kinematic survey methods for
both stop-and-go and continuous operations.
• Map on the run: With the 5700 L1 latency
of only 0.02 sec, you can make
measurements without stopping. Mount the
receiver on an ATV and survey a surface as
fast as you can drive.
• Eliminate errors: Trimble field software
graphically displays in real time a map of all
the points you’ve gathered, so you can check
for gaps in the survey before you leave the
site, reducing the need for costly revisits.
Optimize your GPS survey with satellite
information at your fingertips: Choose a Trimble
On the ultra-rugged Trimble Recon run the Trimble field software that will best support your geographical region.
• Increase your productivity with
Trimble GPS technology at an
affordable price
• Perform sophisticated
postprocessing in the Trimble
Geomatics Office software
• Survey in even the toughest
environments
• Upgrade to dual frequency
or RTK capability as your
business needs change
field software option to use with
your Trimble 5700 L1 and receive
optimal support for your GPS
survey. Trimble field software
graphically displays satellites and
provides tracking and satellite
status, as well as observation
timers.
Proven GPS Technology from Trimble
MODULAR DESIGN
TRIMBLE GEOMATICS OFFICE SOFTWARE—POWERFUL
POSTPROCESSING
Clip the receiver to your belt, tuck it into a comfortable
backpack, attach it to a tripod, or configure it with all
components on a compact lightweight range pole. Mount the
antenna where you need it while keeping the receiver in a
convenient location.
After completing your field work, transfer your 5700 L1 data to the Trimble Geomatics
Office software, Trimble’s advanced GPS and conventional survey data processing and
link package.
When 5700 L1 is used with Trimble Geomatics Office, you can perform control surveys
with short occupation times to generate subcentimeter results. In addition, Trimble
Geomatics Office is designed to streamline GPS postprocessing tasks, reducing
the time needed to process the GPS data collected in the field. A variety of quality
assurance and quality control (QA/QC) tools make identifying unexpected results
very simple, as are the tools to correct field errors. The network adjustment feature
enables you to perform more advanced surveys and conducted detailed analysis and
adjustment of your results.
SUPER-FAST DATA TRANSFER
Transfer data to a PC at speeds of more than
1 Mb/s—ten times faster than the fastest serial port.
FULL METAL JACKET
Trimble 5700 GPS Systems boast the toughest mechanical and
waterproofing specs in the business.
Work with everyone: Even if your clients use a different design or CAD system, Trimble
Geomatics Office software can accept data from, and output data to, over fifty data
formats, including most popular survey, data collector, GIS, and CAD formats.
EASY TO USE
FULLY UPGRADABLE TO
DUAL-FREQUENCY AND RTK OPERATION
Begin using Trimble GPS at an affordable price and then upgrade
to dual frequency and RTK as your needs grow.
TRIMBLE GPS RECEIVER TECHNOLOGY
Just set it up and turn it on. The 5700 automatically acquires
satellites and starts to record data. Combine with a Trimble
Recon data collector and field software to perform detailed
control or topographic surveys.
INTERNAL BATTERIES
Full day operation on a single charge. Convenient, easy to
replace. Integrated battery charger. No need for external charger.
Simple to use.
Proven Trimble L1 GPS technology ensures accurate and reliable
data, and confidence in your results. Trimble Maxwell technology
delivers superior satellite tracking, faster measuring, optimal
precision, and lower power usage.
WAAS AND EGNOS
64 MB OF COMPACTFLASH MEMORY
LIGHTWEIGHT
Use this internal removable memory to store more than 1,700
hours of continuous L1 data collection at an average of 15-second
intervals.
The magnesium alloy case is stronger than aluminum, but
also 30% lighter—the 5700 L1 weighs just 1.4 kg (3 lb) with
batteries.
WAAS and EGNOS capability lets you perform real-time
differential surveys to GIS grade without a base station.
TRIMBLE A3 ANTENNA
The Trimble A3 antenna is a high-quality
GPS antenna that is especially designed
for resistance to signal interference and
multipath. Multipath, which can be caused
by obstacles such as trees or buildings,
can result in inaccurate measurements. The
Trimble A3 maximizes the Trimble Maxwell
technology in the 5700 L1 to provide the
best possible performance.
