ST MARY’S PARISH
OCTOBER 26, 2014________
On the weekend of September 25-26, we joined
the people of our diocese with the kick-off for the
2014-2015 Annual Diocesan Appeal campaign.
At that time, we asked all parishioners to support
the ministries of the Diocese of Davenport. We
are still hoping that many of you will respond with a gift, whatever
you can give. But stewardship is not only about treasure. It is
also about time and talent. All of us have talents to share. All of
us have time to donate to parish activities. In our parish we have
a great many people who spend their talent so generously; others
need a little prodding! We must not take your gifts of time and
talent for granted. We must recognize and celebrate these
offerings. To that end, we are having our annual Parish
Appreciation Dinner this Sunday, October 26, after the 10:30
Mass in our parish hall. I want to thank members of the
Evangelization Committee for hosting us. My great thanks to all
parishioners who so generously volunteer in so many ways.
My prayers are with you each day. Fr. Mike.
