Fall Cemetery Cleanup: It's time for the semi-annual cleanup of graves, mausoleums
crypts and Holy Cross cemetery property. Please help by removing old seasonal flowers from
your loved ones' gravesites and crypts. Decorations should be kept to a minimum and placed
near grave monument heads only. Mausoleum flowers should be placed on crypts or in
authorized vases only. Wire hooks and fasteners, glass vases, jars, bottles, rocks, unsecured
urns, wire shepherds hooks and similar objects are not allowed. Rosebushes, trees or shrubs
may not be planted on gravesites. Cemetery flyers are in church which state complete rules
and regulations.
Wreaths Across America – It is our goal to place a wreath on every veteran’s grave in
Holy Cross Cemetery this Christmas season. Many cemeteries across America are
participating in the project. A fifteen dollar ($15.00) donationT provides a wreath for one
grave. The organizers return $5.00 for each wreath donated to a local charity. The East
Bernard Boy Scout troop is the local recipient of this rebate. Approximately one
hundred fifty veterans are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery. If you want to honor a
veteran buried in another cemetery, you may order a wreath and pick it up the day of
the Wreath Ceremony. Donation information and order forms are available in the
church foyer.
