Letter from the Principal
Dear Ann Visger Elementary School Parents & Families,
I am very pleased with the growth and progress shown by your
children during the month of September. They have settled into
being at school every day and have grown more comfortable as
routines have been better established. Thank you to everyone for
supporting your students and the AV staff. It has really helped to
make the first month of school successful. It was very exciting to
see such a wonderful turn out for the Open House night and was my
great pleasure to meet such wonderful parents. As we begin the
month of October, please keep in mind upcoming key dates.

The school year is off to a great start with many wonderful learning experiences taking place in the building. Students are engaged in lessons that are providing them with opportunities to explore and grow. I
want to encourage you to volunteer in your child’s classroom, which can be arranged by contacting their
teacher. A strong parent-school partnership is essential to the success of a school and the education of
children. We look forward to working closely with you to make this the best year ever for your child. If I
can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to call me at school at 297-9648.

Thank you for your continued support!

Ann Visger Trunk or Trick
When: Thursday October 30,
2014 4:00 pm—6:30 pm
Where: Ann Visger School
parking lot.
What: Volunteers decorate their
trunks in a Halloween theme. Students and their siblings then "trunk
or treat" around the parking lot and
collect peanut-free candy in a safe, fun environment!
For one night every year, the Ann Visger parking lot transforms into a hauntingly
inviting destination for students and their families. Mark your calendar, because
we have a spooky good time planned for Thursday, October 30! Kids and families will enjoy trick-or-treating for free candy from trunk to trunk in a safe, controlled environment while their parents enjoy complimentary hot beverages to
keep warm. Flyers will be coming home in next week to sign up to decorate your
trunk, volunteer at the event, or to bring peanut-free candy! Keep your eyes
open for more information soon!

We need your help keeping our clothing
closet filled so we can help all of our students as the need arises. If your child has
an accident during the school day we make
every attempt to get them dry clothes as
soon as possible so they can be comfortable and get back to learning. Of course it is
always better if a child has their own
clothes so if your child is having accidents
we ask that you please send a change of
clothes with them. If the school finds it
necessary to help your child with dry clothing we ask that you please wash them and
send them back. Additionally, if you have
any school uniforms that no longer fit your
children, please consider donating clean
gently used clothes for our school closet.
As Always Thank You for Being a Part of
Our Ann Visger Family!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Shah School Social Worker
