Elizabethtown Borough invites your organization or business to participate in the annual Elizabethtown
Holiday Parade! The parade will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 6:00 PM, the rain/snow date will be
Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 5:00 PM. 2013 Parade Theme: “The Twelve Days of Christmas”
Line Up Time:

Gift card prizes will be awarded, as follows:
Commercial:
1st & 2nd
Entries will be judged
according to:
Groups 5:15 PM– along West Bainbridge Street
Nonprofits:
1st & 2nd places
Judge’s Choice Award:
1st Place
*Best Use of Theme (50%) *Originality (20%) *Charm (10%)
*Technical Performance (10%) *Audio/Visual Appeal (10%)
Due to Santa being the Grand Finale of the Parade – NO SANTAS are allowed in any groups of
floats.
Performances presented before the judges’ review stand may not exceed 1 minute.

Commercial or Nonprofit Float – any motorized vehicle or trailer pulled by a motorized vehicle designed to
display company logo, products and/or services

Nonprofit Floats (pulled by a noncommercial vehicle), Adult/Youth Groups, Horses, Bands, Walkers

TRAFFIC CONTROL/SAFETY NOTES:
1). FLOATS AND VEHICLES THAT ARE A PART OF THE PARADE MUST ENTER
THROUGH MASONIC DRIVE AND BAINBRIDGE STREETS.
2). PARTICIPANTS AND WALKERS MUST ENTER STAGING AREA THROUGH
MARKET AND BAINBRIDGE STREETS. TO ACCESS THIS AREA, GO THROUGH THE
DRIVEWAY OF ELIZABETHTOWN FITNESS CENTER TURN RIGHT ONTO PEACH
ALLEY AND HEAD NORTH TO BAINBRIDGE STREET (DIRECTIONAL SIGNS WILL
BE POSTED).
3). FOR SPECTATORS SAFETY, PLEASE HAND OUT CANDY INSTEAD OF
THROWING IT TOWARD THE SPECTATORS OR ON THE STREET.
4). IMPORTANT FOR GROUPS WITH CHILDREN: PLEASE HAVE A DESIGNATED
LEADER OR ADULT TO ESCORT CHILDREN TO THE APPROPRIATE LOCATION
WITHIN THE STAGING AREA. THE BOROUGH AND EVENT VOLUNTEERS ARE
NOT RESPONSIBLE TO ESCORT CHILDREN TO AN AREA OR STAY WITH
CHILDREN UNTIL A GROUP LEADER IS PRESENT.
5). AT THE END OF THE PARADE ROUTE – YOUR OPTIONS WILL BE TO TURN
RIGHT OR LEFT ONTO HUMMELSTOWN STREET OR PROCEED STRAIGHT ON
MARKET STREET. AS AN EFFORT TO AVOID A JAM AT THE END OF THE ROUTE PLEASE DO NOT STOP AT THE END BECAUSE THE ELEMENTS BEHIND YOU ARE
PROCEEDING TOWARD THE END OF THE PARADE.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
I, ___________________________________________, a parade participant at the
2013 Elizabethtown Holiday Parade, hereby release Elizabethtown Holiday Parade
together with Elizabethtown Borough from any responsibility should injury, loss
due to theft or damage due to water, fire, wind, or otherwise occurs within and
around my float and/or other parade apparatus. Parties listed above shall not be
liable for any damage done by my workers or me to any person attending the event
or their property. I understand that my property is placed in the downtown area
within the Parade boundaries at my own or the owner’s risk.
