The Athlete of Year Trophy was made available by Mr. Norm Davis, to be presented annually to a local athlete.
The following criteria must be met:

The athlete should have accomplished a high level of athletic achievement over the past year.
The athlete need not be of Olympic calibre.
Past winners are not eligible.
An individual must be nominated, not a team.
Your nominee will be judged on the basis of his/her individual ability, dedication to training schedule, and good sportsmanship.
A committee of 10, made up of representatives from the following, will
review all nominations:

• Twin Lakes Secondary School - Physical Education Department
• Patrick Fogarty Secondary School - Physical Education Department
• Elementary School Physical Educational Council
• Sports Editor - Orillia Packet and Times
• Sports Editor – Orillia Today

• Y.M.C.A. Representative
• City of Orillia - Recreation Advisory Committee
• Sunshine 89 FM
