L3V 7T5 Public Notice Annual Valve Operating Program The City of Orillia Environmental Services Department will be conducting the annual valve operating program over the next few months. This involves locating and operating watermain valves within the City’s water distribution system. This preventive maintenance measure is necessary to ensure that valves are operational and functional in the event of a failure for isolation purposes. Advance notice to the public concerning exact work location and schedule cannot feasibly be provided. During the operating procedure, poor pressure and/or “red” water may result. This situation is temporary. The discoloured water is not hazardous but, if detected, the public is requested to simply open their cold water taps in order to clear the system. For more information, please call the Environmental Services Department at 705-329-7249. The Orillia Opera House Collection for the remainder of the week will be delayed by one day. Items must be at the curb by 7 a.m. to ensure collection. The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, February 23, 2015.
