(organized by bib number) to locate your Packet
• If you are unable to pick up your bib during regularly scheduled hours, someone else may pick it
up for you.
Bib Number Requirements
Your 2014 Great Turtle Trail Run bib number is a unique identifier and
must be worn at all times on race day.
• Do not physically alter your bib in any way
• Do not remove, bend or fold the timing tags attached to your bib;
This will result in damaging the timing device and you may not receive
a finishing time.
• Your bib must be visible and worn on the front and outside of your
clothing during the entire race
• Your bib is non-transferrable and must be worn only by you
• The sale and/or transfer of your bib number WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE
is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification
Gear Check
You can store your gear in the Mission Point Sound Stage during the race. We ask that you retrieve your
personal belongings immediately after you finish the race. Please note that we are not responsible for
any lost or stolen items. All gear must be picked up by 3:00 PM.
Day Passes to the Mission Point Health Club are available for $10 each. Pass includes lockers, showers,
exercise equipment, sauna and hot tub.
Race Vests
We've done our best to ensure you receive a vest in your preferred size, though some sizes sold out and
may not have been available when your registered. While we will not be able to exchange any vest at
Packet Pick-Up (you must take the vest you ordered), you may check to see if an alternate size is
available at the Vest Exchange table.
Weather
The weather can change quickly on the Island. Dress in layers to avoid over-heating or long term
exposure to the cold. The average temperature for the weekend is in the low 40’s.
Forecast
Friday: Mostly sunny with a high of 52 degrees, low of 46 degrees. Breezy with a 0% chance of rain.
Saturday: Partly cloudy with a high of 55 degrees, low of 43 degrees. Breezy with a 10% chance of rain.
Sunday: Sunny with a high of 52 degrees, low of 47 degrees. Breezy with a 0% chance of rain.
Please be sure to check the weather before you leave so that you can pack the proper gear.
Ferry Transportation
All ferry lines will offer a discount to Great Turtle Participants. You can purchase your tickets online
or at the docks with any of three ferry lines. To get the Great Turtle Discount, please use the respective
Promo Code of the ferry line your are booking with.
Ferry schedules are available online and can change at any time due to weather conditions. To assist
with your travel times, please contact the ferry line of choice or view their schedules on their website.

The Half Marathon will start in front of the Mission Point Main Lodge on Huron Street.

All events will finish in the Mission Point Park, located directly in front of the Mission Point Main Lodge.
Course Rules
• The course and mile markers will be clearly marked with white flour on the road and distinctive
Turtle signage.
• If you use Gu Packs along the course, please do not dispose of them on the course; Either carry the
empty packs with you or dispose of them in a cup at an aid station
• Horses always have the right of way on the Island and remember to be aware of any bicycle traffic
• Absolutely no roller blades, pets, wagons or other wheeled vehicles will be allowed on the course.
Baby joggers are strongly discouraged due to safety concerns. Please be considerate of other people
along the course.
• Please mind traffic coming from both directions.
NOTE TO 5.7 MILE WALKERS: There may be faster runners in the Half Marathon coming from behind
you. STAY TO THE RIGHT AT ALL TIMES
Restrooms
Restrooms are available in the Theater lobby and the Conference Center (the majority of the restrooms
are located in this building). We ask that you do not use the restrooms in the Sound Stage and do not
crowd the Theater lobby restrooms. There will also be Porta-Johns located in the Mission Point Park,
near the Half Marathon Start Line.
Water Stations
There will be five (5) aid stations on the Half Marathon Course, approximately 2.5 miles
apart from one another. Gatorade will be available at the second (near British Landing) and fourth
(Arch Rock) water stations.
The 5.7 Mile course will have two (2) aid stations.

Race Results
The Great Turtle Trail Run Results will be posted in the Mission Point Sound Stage immediately following
the race. The results will also be updated online at www.runmackinac.com throughout the race.
You may also view your individual results by scanning the QR Code printed on your bib. You must have
a QR Code Reader app on your Smartphone to utilize this results resource.
Finisher’s Medals & Awards
Finishers of the Great Turtle Trail Run will receive a
commemorative medal.
Awards for all three events will be given to the Overall
winners, the Masters Male and Female winners,
and the top three finishers in each age group. There will
not be an award ceremony so you are responsible to
check the results posting in the Mission Point Sound Stage.
Medal Engraving – Bauman’s Running Shop will be on-site to
engrave your finisher’s medal. For $10, they will personalize your medal with your name, event and
Official finishing time.
Personally Engraved Awards:
Engravings are available for age-group awards at Bauman's Running & Walking Shop. You must mail a
self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Race Photos
For 2014, we are offering FREE PHOTOS to all participants! You will be able to download, print or even
share them on Facebook at no cost. We will have the photos online during the week following the race.
Post-Race Amenities
Following the race, there will be water, bananas, granola bars and cookies available to all finishers.
We ask that you respect those who finish after you and only take one of each.
Halloween Celebration
Adults and children can enjoy a very festive Halloween event at
Mission Point on Saturday evening. If you are staying at the Mission
Point Resort, be sure to bring candy to pass out to all of the little ghosts
and goblins going door to door throughout the hotel.
CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN PARADE!
Children will gather in the Lakeside Market Place at 6:00 PM with
Mac The Moose, who will lead the costume parade and hotel
Trick-or-Treating.
Restaurants
There are plenty of restaurants and bars available on the Island following the race. Mission Point Resort
has a few options to choose from – Lakeside Market Place and Round Island Bar & Grill. You can
also choose from several wonderful establishments in the downtown area.
THE BIG GAME! Mission Point Resort will have 11 flat-screen televisions in the Round Island Bar & Grill
to watch the Michigan/Michigan State game. Enjoy drinks, food and fun of the football game.
Mission Point Resort will be serving pasta buffet Friday evening in the Chianti Restaurant area, so you
can carb-up for your run.
