The Cayman Islands Veterinary Medical
Association (CIVMA) welcomes you to the
28th Biennial Caribbean Veterinary Medical
Association (CbVMA) Conference. We are
honored to host this premier meeting and are
so glad you have joined us.
The Scientific Program has been designed
to fit our theme, “Opening New Frontiers in
Veterinary Medicine: The Work, The Life,
The Balance” and features regional and
international renowned speakers. This chosen
theme has the ultimate goal of improving both
animal and human quality of life. We hope you
find the sessions informative, the networking
enjoyable, and the events entertaining.
Be sure to register for Cultural Night at the
beautiful Grand Old House, a George Town
eatery specializing in Island cuisine. Our
group will enjoy local entertainment full of
Caymanian culture and a private dinner on
the spectacular deck with an ocean view. Price
includes transportation, full dinner buffet, soft
drinks/juice, welcome rum punch, cash bar,
dessert, and entertainment. Tickets are still

Dressing for Sessions
The Dress Code is “smart casual” for all sessions and receptions.
Be prepared for temperature changes. Meeting rooms will be air
conditioned so dressing in layers is strongly advised. Air temperatures
outside could get high; and temperatures in the different rooms will vary
based on the size of the space and the number of people. We suggest you
carry a sweater or light jacket for your comfort.

Continuing Education Credit

Maximum CE hours an individual can obtain: 20 hours
This program has been submitted (but not yet approved) for hours of
continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB
RACE approval; however participants should be aware that some boards
have -limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories
and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continuing education.

Continuing Education credits are recognized through RACE (Registry
of Approved Continuing Education) and are offered for certain sessions.
Please complete the Certificate of Attendance Form in your packet. Be
sure to sign-in at each session you attend for proper attendance records.
Attendee is responsible for completing Certificate of Attendance with
accurate attendance and submitting to their appropriate accreditation
office.
Internet Access
The hotel is offering all conference attendees FREE high-speed internet
access in your sleeping room, meeting space and the lobby.
• To access the internet as a hotel guest throughout the hotel, use the
same code used within your room. To login, select “I am a registered
guest”. Follow the steps, select the number of days and accept the
charges. The amount will not be reflected on your final bill. (No code
will be provided for the rooms).
• The lobby is free to connect for everyone. Select “Marriott Public”.
• To access in the meeting space, please use the code located in the
meeting space. This is assigned for our group only. Note: When
linking to the internet in the meeting space areas, that will be the
only connection that will show as available (“Marriott Conference”)
but if you are already connected from your hotel guest room, you

Lab fees cannot be refunded for cancellations made during the

booths. Each exhibitor is solely responsible for its own drawing and

booklets. Or, you may visit the business center to print your choices.

Opening Ceremony and Reception

Join us for a Special Cayman Island Welcome! The Opening Ceremony
and Reception both are held at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach
Resort. The Hon. D. Kurt Tibbetts, Minister for Planning, Lands,
Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure will address the conference
attendees, as well as other special guests. Come experience local
entertainment as we officially open the conference. At the Reception,
enjoy appetizers and drinks as you meet up with old friends and mingle
with new colleagues. The Opening Ceremony and Reception are included
