Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering - UPDATE
While not the nightmare of the early 2000’s, regulatory expecta ons for BSA remain high, and
there con nue to be changes in the enforcement of the rules. This means there is a con nued
need for you to focus on the effec ve and meaningful elements of your BSA program. This seminar will discuss many “need-to-know” issues for the BSA/AML professional.
Program Highlights
Risk Assessment
Building a solid BSA/AML program requires an effec ve assessment of the money laundering and other BSA risks facing your
bank. The BSA risk assessment that was “fine” at the last examinaon is now “deficient”, even though not much has changed. This
session discusses the risks that must be evaluated and provides
prac cal ideas on how to move beyond the basic assessment
methods provided in the examina on manual. Much of our focus
on risk will be on electronic product delivery systems, and the appropriate risk assessment response. The goal of this session is to
offer ideas to improve your bank’s risk assessment process and
results, and will offer opportuni es to step back for a moment and
consider your bank’s posi on.
Regulatory Update and Emerging Trends
This session highlights recent developments in the an money laundering laws and regula ons. This session will
discuss the recent due diligence proposal and other relevant pronouncements that have been issued by FinCEN
over the previous 12 -18 months.
OFAC Update
OFAC issues con nue to be a hot-bu on with examiners. We will look at common pi alls and provide ideas
to help to improve your program.

Suspicious Activity Reporting
Monitoring for suspicious ac vity is more important
than ever. And the requirements con nue to evolve.
We will include an in-depth review of SAR trends,
mortgage fraud, and issues as stated by the agencies.
We will include case studies in this sec on for analysis.
Beyond the Ordinary: Compliance
Challenges
While the overall day will include lecture segments, some of the best analysis and growth can
be found in the exchange of ideas and thoughts
among those who face the BSA/AML challenge every day. This session will be a guided
roundtable among all of the par cipants, as we share together the challenges that face bank
employees charged with BSA/AML responsibili es.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is ideally suited to employees with BSA/AML responsibili es who have an understanding of an -money laundering laws and regula ons, including BSA officers, compliance
officers, auditors, head tellers, and risk managers. The program would not be effec ve for individuals that do not have a basic BSA/AML skill set.
