Milton James Craft
Milton James “Jim” Craft, 60, passed away to be with
the Lord Sunday (Oct. 19, 2014) at home in Seminole, Fla.
after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 2, 1953 in Waycross. He owned
Kraftronics, Inc., an engineering firm in Pensacola for 30
years. He was an active member in the Mayokis, Tate’s
Quarterback Club, and Olive Baptist and Hillcrest Baptist
churches. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine, and his five children,
Christian (Jenna), Timothy, Lauren (Nate), James and
Craft
Alexis; three grandchildren; three brothers, his parents,
Milton and June Craft; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at Mim’s Baptist Church, Alma, Saturday, at 2 p.m.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Covenant Hospice, Daphne
and Vanderbilt UMC for their support in his final days. They also want to
thank their numerous friends and family for all their love and support.
Curtis R. Taylor Sr.
The homegoing celebration for Curtis R. Taylor Sr. will
be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel’s International
Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 600 Genoa St., where Bishop
Michael-Angelo James is the pastor and will also offer
words of comfort.
Burial and committal service will follow in Oakland
Cemetery.
The cortege will assemble at 1118 Porter St. at 2:30 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Taylor
He died Saturday (Oct. 18, 2014).
He was born May 20, 1947, in Telemore, to the late Cuff Rubin “CR” Taylor and Katie Mae Taylor. His grandparents were the late Elder Horace and
Adellar Wesley and the late Andrew and Jeanette Brinkley-Taylor. He lived
most of his life in Waycross.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Taylor Sr., and a daughter,
Lisa M. Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his memories his ex-wife, Ronnie Mae Taylor; seven
children, Jacqueline Dixon (Harold), Barbara Scriven (Kenneth), Veronica
Taylor, Horace Taylor (Jennifer), Marcus Taylor, Andrew Taylor (Shawanna)
and Curtis Taylor Jr.; one brother, Lance Taylor; one sister, Wanda Faye Taylor-Atkinson (Bishop Larry); and a legacy of 14 grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and
friends who loved him.

W.C. ‘Dad’ Dowling
GARDEN CITY — W.C. “Dad” Dowling, 85, passed away Wednesday
(Oct. 22, 2014).
He was born in Brantley County and was retired from Union Camp Corporation after 38 years where he worked as a supervisor in the box plant. He
was a member of Acacia Lodge No. 452, F&AM’s, the Scottish Rite Consistory Valley of Savannah and Alee Shrine Temple where he was a member of
the Dune Cats.
He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and he served in the United
States Army, the 773rd Heavy Tank Battalion. His hobbies included fishing,
gardening, traveling, NASCAR and football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Caroline Dowling, and
daughter, Jeannie Droste.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jackie Dowling; daughters,
Lisa Roberts (Stuart) and Tammy Coleman (Randy); grandchildren, Nicholas
Smith, Amber Bilka (Todd), Trevor Coleman (Shana), Jake Roberts and Chad
Droste (Lori); five great-grandchildren; sisters, Mayo Gillis and Ruby Roberts
(Rodney); and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be this evening from 5 to 7 at Fairhaven Funeral Home in
Garden City.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral
Home in Garden City with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating.
Burial will be at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
