8-lane 25-yard pool for Championship and Consolation Finals
Diving is an eleven (11) dive list for each participant
Pool Specs:
25 yard 8 lane out-door competitive pool with 1 lane buffer and 2 warm
down lanes. Water depth at starting end is five foot two inches with
spectrum starting platforms and the turn end is four feet six inches.
Timing equipment:
Daktronic Electronic Timing System with pads, buttons, and an eight lane
scoreboard. Handheld watches will be used for backup.
Scoring:
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS: 20, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
RELAY EVENTS: 40, 34, 32, 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 18, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2
Entry Limit:
A competitor will be permitted to enter a maximum of four (4) events, no
more than two (2) of which may be individual events. There will be a
entry cut off time of 7:00 for both men and women in the 500 freestyle.
Swimmers that may not achieve the cut off time of 7:00 during finals will
not score.
Each team will be allowed a maximum of four (4) entries per individual
event and one (1) relay per relay event. Relay cards may list up to eight
competitors’ names on the relay card and participation in that relay will
be limited only to those individuals whose names are listed.
When entering athletes, please enter their grade level in number format.
(For example: 9, 10, 11, 12 )
Diving competition will be an eleven (11)-dive list. The degree of
difficulty for all dives is listed in the NFHS Swimming & Diving Rules Book.
Rules:
National Federation of State High School Association 2014/2015
Swimming and Diving and Water Polo Rules Book along with the
2014/15 Florida High School Athletic Association Swimming and Diving
Manual will govern the meet.
Swimmers, coaches, meet officials, and volunteers only are allowed onto
the competition pool deck. All others are to remain in the spectator area.
Violation of this rule will result in expulsion from the Aquatic Complex for
all offending parties.
Hy-Tek Entry:
All HY-TEK entries must be submitted to Jeff Cain at
[email protected] on HY-TEK’S software via email using the
District Meet Event File. Insure your entries are marked clearly with your
team name, correct Hy- Tek abbreviation, and district/state level.
Coaches’ names must be entered in Hy-tek.
Each school must generate in C2C a “2014 FHSAA State Swimming &
Diving Series Official Entry List” on which is listed the name of each
student-athlete who will represent the school in the state series. This must
be completed by Monday, October 13, 2014.
Entry Deadline:
October 15, 2014 by 6:00 p.m.
Make sure that all athletes listed on your Hy Tek entries match your C2C
official list. All athletes must be listed if planning on participating at the
regional meet. Send, electronically, your Hy Tek entry list as well as your
entries.
Awards:
FHSAA District Trophies for the first place and runner-up team for both men and
women. Medals for 1-3, ribbons for 4-8 will be awarded for individuals and relays.
Advancement:
The top two finishers in each swimming event from each district event shall qualify
for the regional swimming competition. In addition, the next overall best times at
large for a field of 24 from the remaining best times among top sixteen finishers in
the district meets comprising the region qualify for the regional competition. In
relay events, the top finishers in each relay event as well as the next overall best
times at large fro a field of sixteen from the remaining best times among top eight
finishers from the district meets in the region qualify for regional competition. For
diving, the top two places from each meet with a minimum qualifying score of
280.0 points advance. The remaining spaces shall be filled on an at-large basis
from divers who placed in the top eight in their district and met the minimum score
of 280.0.

Note:
During finals there will be a 15-minute break following the 50 freestyle.
Additional breaks to be determined at coaches meeting.
Camera Zones:
Due to the nature of the sport, no pictures are allowed behind the blocks or diving
boards. No cameras will be permitted in the locker rooms or changing area of the
pool. No flash photography at the start of a race. All photographers must follow
these rule or they will be asked to leave the venue.
General Information:
1. Each school is responsible for two timers for the finals. Two passes will be
provided.
2. Each school is responsible to inform Charlotte High the number of participants
and coaches that will be attending the district meet. Please do this during the
same time that the entries are due so we can get the appropriate number of
passes.
3. The spectator entrance fee is $6.00 for each session. This price is set by FHSAA
guidelines. Bleachers will be provided for spectators.
4. Student-athletes, coaches, administrators, spectators and all other persons
connected directly or indirectly with a member school, as well as contest
officials, shall adhere to the principles of good sportsmanship and the ethics of
competition before, during and after all contests in which they participate
and/or attend.
5. Concession stand will be provided. Hospitality will be provided for the coaches,
officials and workers.
6. No glass containers on pool deck.

RULES:
FHSAA and National Federation Swimming and Diving rules will
govern this meet.
Diving sheets are due at 10:00 am. Having them in beforehand
provides for more time to check the sheets.
Competition Rulebook 9-4-1.
There shall be 5 judges for the diving events. There are only cuts
when the number of divers permit:
• 24 to 20 after 5 dives
• 20 t0 16 after 3 dives
• Final 16 perform last 3 dives
Diving Format:
NFHS rules apply for Championship meets
Diving competition will be an eleven (11) dive list. The
competition shall consist of five voluntary dives and six optional
dives. The five voluntary dives shall come from each of the five
groups, with their assigned DD having the sum total of 9.0 or less.
The six optional shall include at least one chosen from each
of the five groups. There shall be no minimum total degree of
difficulty for optional dives. No more than one optional dive from
the same group is permitted through semifinals. All five groups
must be represented through the semifinals (the first eight
rounds). The dives to be performed during each round of
championships competition shall be as follows: Preliminaries-Any
2 voluntary and 3 optional. Semifinals-2 voluntary and 1 optional.
Finals-1 voluntary and 2 optional. Recommend using the 11-dive
score sheet that can be down loaded from the FHSAA website.
Note:
All divers must be listed on your master entry form. Please send a
copy of your divers tentative dive sheets in advance to Pattie Oaks
at [email protected] by Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
This is for her to set the divers and dives up in the computerized dive
program we will be using.
