POOL RULES

• Always shower before using the pools.
• Children under the age of 8, or in a lifejacket, must be accompanied by a person 16 years of age or older in the water.
• Only United States Coast Guard approved lifejackets and swim aids are allowed.
• Bubbles will only be used for swimming lessons.
• No inflatable floatation devices are allowed. (This includes water wings and learn to swim belts.)
• SCUBA style masks that cover the nose will not be allowed.
• Children under the age of two or children not fully toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. (Available at
the front desk if you forget.)
• Swimming attire is required in the pool. Mesh shirts and nylon Lycra swimwear is acceptable. Cutoffs and t-shirts are not allowed.
• Glass, street shoes, food and beverages are not allowed in the pool area.
• Persons with open wounds, bandages or skin conditions are not permitted to use the pools.
• Children 6 years of age and up will demonstrate 25 yards of swimming, to a lifeguard, to use the Wibits and the diving boards. (This includes birthday parties.)
• Persons wearing lifejackets are not permitted to use the diving boards or the Wibit flip.
• There needs to be two people 16 or older in the water for every 12 children under the age of 8 and/or in lifejackets. (This includes birthday parties.)
• Bismarck Parks and Recreation District staff will have the final decision on the safety and the best
interest of our patrons.
Wibit & Diving
Board Rules
• Children 5 years of age and under are not allowed to use the Wibits or diving boards. (This includes birthday parties)
• Children 6 years of age and up will demonstrate 25 yards of swimming, to a lifeguard, to use the Wibits and the diving boards. (This includes birthday parties)
• Diving is permitted off the diving boards only.
• Jump or dive straight off the diving boards. Enter the diving area from the boards only.
• After going off the board, exit the pool by swimming directly to the diving bay ladder, not the pool edge.
• One bounce off the board only.
• Lifejackets are not permitted off the diving board or the Wibit flip.
• You may only jump off the board in a forward facing position.
