The studies will start on 13th of January 2016 at 10.00. Venue: Tukholmankatu 10.
The first three days are orientation days, and it is very important to attend these classes. On your first day

Hinkle JL, Cheever KH. Brunner and Suddhart’s Textbook of Medical-Surgical Nursing.
Lippincott, latest edition (13th), 2013. Also 11th and 12th Editions accepted. Please note
that in the later editions, page numbers will vary from the 13th edition.
We have also had the following books on our background-reading list during the first academic year which
are available from the Metropolia´s libarary:

For the preclinical classes you will need a uniform and a pair of good shoes. There are several stores to
choose from. There are also some stores which sell used uniforms at a cheaper prize. To find out where to
get these, you might want to consult student tutors once the school begins.
If you have already completed nursing education (Registered Nurse) in another country, please, book
an appointment with the head of the programme Päivi Rimpioja ([email protected]) and your tutor
Aino Ezeonodo ([email protected]) prior to the beginning of studies. Bookings are available after
January 11th

It is useful for all non-native Finnish speakers to work on their Finnish skills, whether you become a student
in DPN or not. In case you won’t start your studies this year, we hope to see you in Metropolia in the years to
