LITTLEROCK Elementary School NEWSLETTER - October 2014

LITTLEROCK Elementary School
NEWSLETTER - October 2014
Glenn Spinnie
Principal
The mission of Littlerock Elementary School is to inspire a life-long love of learning by
providing a consistent, safe learning environment where every individual is valued.
Fall is a time of change – things
are changing all around us: leaves
are turning colors, weather is getting
rainy, temperatures are dropping. This
is a great time to reflect on the changes
in your children – getting taller,
developing their personalities, becoming
more independent. Take some time as a
family this month and celebrate the great
changes that are taking place. Have a great
October!

Kids Closet Clothing Drive
Committed to assisting families with clothing needs through school & community involvement
“Kids Helping Kids”
WHEN: Bring in new or gently used CHILDREN’S clothing to your school starting
NOW - - through October 31st, 2014
OR bring them to the District Office.
WHERE: All clothes received will be donated to the Tumwater Kids Closet, run by Tumwater
High School, Black Hills High School, and LINCS Life Skills students.
WHAT: We are asking for clothing items in good condition appropriate for infants through
high school age children. Socks, Underwear, Pants, & Coats are of special need.
HOW: Life Skills students at our high schools and LINCS accept donations for gently used
clothes. They in turn learn skills on how to wash & sort clothes giving them retail experience. The
Kids Closet distributes donated clothes to children of need living in our community anonymously
through school counselor requests & clothing giveaway events hosted in our district where children can shop for clothes.
The next giveaway will be in November at
Michael T. Simmons Elementary.
Tumwater School District is not a sponsor of this event and assumes no responsibility .
