Parent Opinion survey
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2014
Parent Opinion survey conducted in August.
Written feedback comments were overwhelmingly
positive about the programs, learning opportunities
and commitment and dedication of staff. Areas for
improvement as indicated in survey results were
around extra-curricular activities and the school’s
approach to homework. School Council, the
Community Engagement sub-committee and staff
have analysed the results and work towards
continued improvement in all areas. Any feedback
on homework and extra-curricular activities in
particular would be greatly appreciated.
2015 School Year
School Council last night approved the first three
days of the 2015 school year as Professional
Learning days for staff. The school is allocated four
student free days each year and we have chosen to
take three of these at the beginning of the year to
focus on key school directions and to prepare for
the year ahead. The first day of school for students
is Monday 2nd February. The remaining student free
day will be taken on Friday 24th April.

The Canterbury Parents Association will circulate
bookclub order forms for the Christmas order in
November. We’re looking for some volunteers to
organise this activity. Jenny Flynn has organised it for the
past couple of years, and is now looking to hand it over
for next year. It would be great to get some new
volunteers now, to work with Jenny and learn the ropes.
If you’re interested, please contact Jenny at
[email protected]
In response to feedback from the communication survey, the Community Engagement
Committee and Technology and Communication PLT have introduced tiqbiz. This allows us to
communicate more effectively and will replace email as the main way of communicating with
parents from the start of 2015.
tiqbiz can be downloaded onto your smartphone via the App Store or onto your computer via
this link: www.tiqbiz.com so that you can register and log in.
It is really easy to use and you will be notified whenever new information has been added.

Year 1 & 2 Working Bee
Our Last Working Bee for this year!!
The annual CPS Christmas Craft Market is fast
approaching. We are looking for parents who are willing
to offer their time by either: joining the organizing
committee, and/or volunteering on the day.
(All parents, if you missed a previous working
bee, please join us!!)
Neither are huge time commitments and your help would
be greatly appreciated. This is an opportunity for you to
get involved on a small scale, have some fun and meet
some new people.
(Also for parents who missed previous working bees)
To register your interest or for further details please
contact: Catherine Charles, (Market Coordinator)
[email protected]
Also, we are currently in the process of finalizing our
stallholders – if you, or you know of anyone who may be
interested in having a stall, contact Catherine – details
above. We would be happy to hear from any students
who may like to participate with a stall too.
This Working Bee is for all parents of
Year 1 & 2 students.

followed by a BBQ.
