From The Principal…
2015 Staffing We are in the process of determining staffing and developing teaching teams for next year. Due to teachers taking family leave next year, there will be a number of new teachers at the school. Canterbury Primary is a highly sought after school and we always attract a large number of teachers applying for positions. It has a strong reputation for being a positive, energetic, innovative work environment where teachers work hard across all aspects of the school and engage with each other in teams to make the school and learning the best it can be. Staff placements will be finalised in the next couple of weeks. School Council Membership 2015 Next year we will have a number of parent vacancies on Council as these rotate every two years. Please give some thought to this and feel free to call me if you would like to know more about what this involves. The commitment for all councillors is to attend nine Council meetings per year and to be involved in at least one subcommittee which usually meets nine times per year. Council meetings are currently held twice a term on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm – usually finishing by 10pm with an extra meeting and dinner in early December. Please consider supporting your child’s time at Canterbury Primary School in this way – no experience is necessary and I would love to hear from you. If you are interested or would like to know more please contact me via email or phone at the school. David Wells - Principal

In response to feedback from the communication survey, the Community Engagement Committee and
Technology and Communication PLT have introduced tiqbiz. This allows us to communicate more
effectively and will replace email as the main way of communicating with parents from the start of
2015. tiqbiz can be downloaded onto your smartphone via the App Store or onto your computer via
this link: www.tiqbiz.com so that you can register and log in. It is really easy to use and you will be
notified whenever new information has been added.
