Week of Prayer for World Peace What is One World Week? One World Week was established in 1978. It is a development education charity. It includes United Nation Day on 24th October. 12-19th October 2014 There is a leaflet of Prayers for peace drawn from the major religious traditions of the world. For leaflets, please contact Daphne Beale Tel: 261688 One World Week builds relationship of mutual respect that cross boundaries, so that all may enjoy fullness of life and justice in our shared world. 18 –26 October 2014 “Living Differently” Our aims are…… To enable groups at local level to work across boundaries such as cultures, ethnicity, gender and creed, and to recognize we are part of one world in combating inequality and discrimination. “Breaking Chains making change” To stimulate activities which nature values of ‘ubuntu’ (active togetherness) and lead to learning, understanding and action for global justice One World Week is an annual opportunity to join a world-wide movement of people taking action for justice locally and globally.
