Tres chic, non? Learn to control square wire with a stepped plier and craft it into these beautiful and classic fleur de lis earrings. Patinated metal evokes an old world elegance and helps to highlight sparkling crystals. Gemstones or pearls would also work well. Finish with learning how to make your own ear wires. Flat Even Count Peyote fs \ $25 Sunday, October 19 (2-5pm) Gemstone Pod Pendant \ $35 Saturday, November 1 (1-4pm) Join us as we learn one of the most basic off-loom bead weaving technique. The peyote stitch has been seen in Native American beadwork as well as Ancient Egyptian artifacts. It can be woven in an even count or odd count of beads per row, although this class will be focused on the more popular even count. We’ll be making this simple and fashionable band bracelet featuring a Z hook clasp as the focal. All skill levels welcome. Materials list. Learn to shape silver, copper or brass sheet into a lovely pod shaped form. Then texture and emboss to your heart’s content. A gorgeous flat gemstone bead takes center stage, along with pretty side-drilled pearls or beads and crystals for embellishment. Any embellishment beads can be used in this design. Scale is key. Bonus instructions using Gilder’s paste will be covered. Metal fabrication skills helpful but not required. Work with the oh-so-pretty patterned wires and learn to shape them into your perfect hoop size. We’ll do a bit of hammering and filing and then drill a delicate hole for hanging. Finish with custom made ear wires and they’re ready to wear home. What a treat! Power tool experience is helpful but not required. Materials list. We’ve seen a bunch of rivolis being bezeled. Now learn how to bezel freeform shaped flat beads or cabochons using right angle weave that is then embellished with sparkling crystals. You will learn how to set up the Marudai and how to do the actual braiding. When completed, it will seem as though strands of interior beads are caged inside of an exterior braid. Making this Kumihimo necklace is so very fast that you will no doubt want to make lots more. All skill levels welcome. Materials list. It’s easy, fun, and can be customized by creating a beaded cover, making it oh so “fabulous!” We’ll be using the tubular peyote stitch to get this cover done and either freeforming the design pattern or following the sample pattern. Referred to as the horn of plenty, it is typically seen with fruit or flowers flowing from it. In our version we will be adding a spray of beads instead and a integrated clasp that blends perfectly. Learn to make wire scrolls that serve as your basic armature that will support wire woven embellishment beads. This filigree inspired cuff is gorgeous in any color palette and a comfort to wear. If you’ve already conquered the traditional Spiral Stitch, try your hand at the Double Spiral. Learn how to create two spirals at a time to give you this cool rope effect.
