Biography
MELUSIVE is a progressive rock band led by
charismatic female lead vocals which presents an atmospheric soundscape inspired
by ferocious, melodic metal riffs with a twist
of 80’s synthesizer.
With roots in the mix of 1980’s rock sound
and modern hard rock the band has formed
an almost theatrical expression; worn by
odd time signatures, aggressive passages,
melodic riffs and captivating electronic.
The music is narrative and provides the setting for the contrasts in life where intimacy
and turbulence become entwined.
Melusive has live been compared with bands
such as Pink Floyd, The Savage Rose, Jefferson Airplane, Evanescence, Within Temptation and Porcupine Tree.
The band was formed in late summer 2010
and in March 2012 they released their debut EP
”Grasping for a phenomenon” where the songs
”Fly” and ”RSOW” got airplay in both Denmark
and UK.
Melusive are gradually approaching 100 live
concerts with highlights in 2014 included to
be sent directly to Quasar Rock Final at Jelling Musikfestival, selected for LiveCamp
showcase through TAK ROCK! and Vibstock
Festival after a Tryout where GAFFA-writer
Troels Frøkjær had the band as his favorite,
as well as being one of the few live-bands
appearing at Karrusel 2014 in Odense, Denmark.
Additionally Melusive have been support for
Claus Funch & His Interpersonal Relationships at Musikhuset Posten, Odense, played
at Mosstock Festival, Skanderborg, for the
third time, visited Fatter Eskil, Aarhus, where
they organized an ”Odense Rock Night”event along with the hard rock/metal band
Annominus and they have been selected to
the stage ”The Ugly Duckling” under H.C. Andersen Festival in Odense.
Highlights of 2015 so far, is to be winners of
The Quasar Rock try-outen Godset, Kolding
and thus once again sent directly to Quasar Rock Finals 2015 at Jelling Musikfestival.
Here they came in second and subsequently
hired to play at the Jelling Musikfestival 2015.
Melusive has just been selected for the semifinal to the Von Hatten Prisen 2015, Café Von
Hatten, Randers.
As a result of Quasar Rock and Jelling Musikfestival, Melusive was invited to a Performance Workshop with Kristian Koch who also
coaches participants in P3s KarriereKanonen
- where the band was used as a case study.
There is no doubt that Melusive is an innovative and imaginative band - they have a clear
mission to spread the love of the progressive
genre, therefore they work very hard on a national and international breakthrough.

Mosstock Festival is a festival for amateur
musicians and the group Melusive included on this photograph fired it off and got
big roses along the way by the audience.
The venue at Godset, Kolding Friday
evening was the second preliminary round
of Quasar Rock. There was pressure on the
music from the beginning and throughout
the evening we got exciting and energetic
variations of rock, from the metallic to the
theatrical to the melodic and even popped.

just the small stage, but the entire floor
of Theatre 95B and made us
​​ all a part of
