Humanities Essay AbdulRahman A. Althani 7A Ancient Rome was a civilization that was founded on the Italian peninsula as early as the 10th century BC. It became one of the largest empires in the ancient world. The Roman Empire ruled from 27 B.C. until 393 A.D. This essay will talk about religion, education and jobs in Ancient Rome. Education that was in ancient Rome How did they study Did everyone go to school Who were the important gods What did Romans usually do when they are in the religion How was the religion in Rome What were the jobs there Did everyone work Did jobs have an important roll in ancient Rome Education in Rome was really important to the people. Rich people put a great deal of faith in education. The poor people did not receive a formal education, while many others didn’t even learn to read and write. Children from rich families were well educated and were either taught by a private tutor at home or went to school. Schools in Rome were normally only for boys. Schools were rarely individual buildings but an extension of a shop, separated from the crowd by a mere curtain. As you saw the education was really important and rich people had choice of being tutored at home or at school, but now days everybody goes to school but we have private schools and normal schools. In Rome religion was a very big part of life. There were two religions. One of the religions was a private religion, the head of the family within the home led it. The other one was a public religion that was carried on by priests who were elected by the citizens. In old times there were two religions and private religions but now time all of the religions are the same and not private. There were many different kinds of jobs in Rome. Some of the jobs were well paid while others were not. Most of the ancient Roman jobs were really hard to get so people worked hard to get jobs. There were some jobs that were considered as desirable jobs, for example mainly everyone in the military got rich. Maybe when we convert this in now days it would be the same so maybe nothing changed since ancient Rome. As you see this was the life in Ancient Rome, Religion was a really important roll, jobs were hard to get and education was hard. New things have been changed since ancient Rome and if you see now Rome it would be much more better and I think that after couple of years it would change and new things will come out.
