Word from Our Pastor….
On numerous times you have heard me say that when it comes to churches
there are pills and there are plums, and you know how I feel about the
Presbyterian Church of Broomfield: this church is a plum. I feel incredibly
blessed to have served as the Interim Pastor as you all moved through

this time of transition. I am deeply thankful for all the hard work you

At a deeper level you all have completed systemic changes in the way
you handle divisive topics. The Session and Board of Deacons demonstrated a willingness to truly grapple with the changes and definition of
marriage and the Middle East divestment topics which erupted during this

Drama is something our church does well, and offers to the community children.
Thank you to all who helped & supported the youth production of Peter Pan on Oct. 25. Thank you to those
who stayed and helped us clean up. Ww had quite a mess. Thanks to; Sharon & Art Reinke, Bill & Sandy
Madura, Bess Dalvit, Whit Dempsey, Rosemary Bogart, Bob & Kathy Erichsen. Special thanks to my amazing leaders! Kim Ann Wardlow as my co-leader, co-director, friend and prayer support. Sarah Rundus for always helping with positive help on tough days . Butch Bailey, who makes all my crazy ideas happen, & support the kids. Amanda Noland for helping with Drama Camp kids. We had an amazing cast of 20 characters,
performing an amazing evening. Peter Pan is an old story that everyone knows; we added our own flare, and
made it our own.
Ashley Einfalt starred as Peter Pan. A small known fact, Ashley went to our preschool 20 years ago, and
walked in our Halloween parade – as Peter Pan!!!
The rest of the cast included: Brittany Bailey as Wendy, Margrit Mackey as Michael, Sydney James as John,
Kim Ann Wardlow as Mrs. Darling, Sarah Rundus as Liza, Connor James as Nana, Ben Bailey as Captain
Hook, Robby Fossell as Tic Toc Crock, Kayla Bowers as Smee, Jasmyn Liberatore as Starkey, Mickale Ford
as Skylight, Butch Bailey as Noodles, Agusta Bowers as Tootles, Addison Hollis as Nibs,
Valera Noland as Pots,, Brenna Gibbens as Pans, Beau Noland as Curley, Jordan Liberatore as Slightly,
Grace Fossell as Princess Tiger Lily, Whit Dempsey as Great Big Little Panther. Lighting & sound techs were
James Pratt and Jake (from State Farm).
We had faith reflections from the script that we talked about with both age groups. For example, faith like a
child, resisting growing in Christ for fear of change, God opens windows of opportunity for us, belief in what
Jesus did on the cross to conquer death, and adoption as believers.
This project took 4 months. In that time, we saw ourselves in the play in a way that we didn't expect. Sometimes we were Wendy, as a good role model and teacher following what her parents want her to do. We saw
peace and forgiveness like Tiger Lily and Great Big Little Panther. On some days, we were Tinker Bell as a
bright light for others. We laughed and cried and threw fits, not just the little ones. We had many days of
happy thoughts like a child, and some days being the pirate, derailing another one's day. We also found ourselves, like Peter Pan or the lost boys, avoiding our responsibilities. We had a reminder from the tic toc-croc,
as we planned to perform this play in September. I am so proud of everyone who stuck with the project and
finished well.
This was an amazing multi-generational project, I miss it already.

(continued from Page 1)The church is poised to move into the future with joy,
enthusiasm, and hope. My prayer for you is that you will continue to keep
your eye on the cross and to provide care for those who suffer. Over the
past two years I have grown to appreciate the amount of mission work this
congregation does. You literally impact lives around the world and provide
a dignity and compassion for Broomfield’s most vulnerable. This is part of
what makes the church so warm .
My parting challenge for you is that you take a hard look at your stewardship commitments and your budget. You all are an asset to this community
