Research Grand Rounds (November
2014)
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of
Thiopurines at SingHealth Clinical
Pharmacology
*Note: Photographs will be taken during the event for publicity purpose.
Insightful knowledge about Flow Cytometry will be shared at
our November Research Grand Rounds from our presenters:
SingHealth Clinical Pharmacology has developed and
validated an LC-MS/MS method.
1) Dr Ling Khoon Lin, Director, SingHealth Flow Cytometry
This method allows the therapeutic monitoring of 6-thioguanine
nucleotides (6-TGN) and 6-methyl mercaptopurine nucleotides
(6-MMPN) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease
receiving azathioprine or 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP).
2) Charles-Antoine Dutertre, Research Fellow, Duke-NUS
Graduate Medical School
Details of the event:
Date: 26 Nov 2014 (Wed)
Time: 7.30 to 8.30am (Breakfast is served from 7am)
Venue: Seminar Room L1-S3 @ Academia

** Due to low ridership, the trial KKH Campus to SGH Campus 7am shuttle
bus service for Research Grand Rounds will not continue with effect from Aug
2014.
The service was initiated as a collaborative effort between Prof
Balram Chowbay and Dr Ling Khoon Lin and is currently in
active use by clinicians in SGH Dept of Gastroenterology &
Hepatology. It is now available to SingHealth and nonSingHealth institutions as well as private medical centres.
Clinicians who are keen on this service are welcome to read
more or contact SingHealth Clinical Pharmacology at
[email protected] or +65 6576 7096 for more
information.

from 10.30am to 1pm at L2-T1, Academia, please register for this seminar by emailing your details to
[email protected] more details of the event, please click here.
Seminar: Visualizing & Analyzing Multiple Cellular Parameters with Greater
Confidence
A collaboration between SingHealth Advanced Bio-imaging and GE Healthcare Life Sciences, this interactive seminar will
introduce The INCELL 2200 high content analyzer by GE Life Sciences and provide insights on how INCELL 2200 could fit into
different applications of the research groups at SingHealth. Hands-on sessions will also be available. For more details and

Participants required for Incentivized Weight-Loss Research Study
Trial for Incentives on Obesity (TRIO) is a 12-month randomized controlled trial which aims to incorporate theory-based
economic incentives into evidence-based weight loss programs to improve uptake, weight loss and weight loss maintenance.
This study is funded under NUS Initiative to Improve Health in Asia (NIHA) and conducted in collaboration with the Lifestyle
Improvement & Fitness Enhancement (LIFE) Centre at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). For more information, you can
