School of Creative Industries
‘Arts in Partnership’ Co-ordinator
Ref: CI 7839
Salary: £25,078 - £33,613 per annum
This post is to lead the development of the ‘Arts in Partnership’ Initiative - a 3 part scheme
building towards the delivery of a gifted and talented 14-16 ‘Head-start’ programme.
‘Arts in Partnership’ is an initiative for providing site based workshops, after school activities
and vocationally specific training in partnership with schools and community groups, and
delivering holiday and weekend arts and creative programmes within our own specialist
facilities on campus; ultimately establishing a high quality ’14-16’ provision in the Creative
Arts.
We are looking for an individual with a strong visual or performing arts background with
experience of delivering at KS4 and below. This person will have strong project leadership
skills in order to establish and develop the ‘Arts in Partnership’ scheme, but also be able to
devise, co-ordinate and ensure delivery of workshops and classes with pre-16 learners. In
the role you will be responsible for engaging schools and other organisations in the scheme
through awareness raising and promotion, for recruitment of young people and for delivery
of all financial and engagement milestones.
Your hours of work will be flexible and will include evening and weekends according to
learner demand, and the expected delivery model of the programme. You will be required to
undertake project and course leadership responsibility which entails managing a team.
The successful candidate will have a related degree level academic/vocational qualification
in a relevant curriculum area and teaching qualification. You should also be able to
demonstrate experience of developing learning provision, project leadership and successful
delivery of targets. Experience of funding would also be an advantage.
Newcastle College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children,
young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff to share this commitment.
