Mission Statement
We, the Parish Family of Saint Valentine, are a Roman Catholic Community within the local church of the Archdiocese of Newark. The
celebration of the Mass and the Sacraments is central to our identity as a parochial community which worships God in fellowship with family,
neighbors and friends. Sharing the Eucharist empowers us to be a sign of the Kingdom of God present among us, yet ever becoming more a
reality, as we follow Christ, proclaiming his Gospel and witnessing to his teaching. Through liturgical worship and the ministries of the Church,
we are enabled to love each other in our service of God. THEREFORE, we the Parish Community of Saint Valentine, are dedicated to serving
others within and outside ourselves, as we strive to deepen our own commitment to the Lord and to announce the Good News of salvation in
Christ.

A MESSAGE FROM
THE ADMINISTRATOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners:
We congratulate those who received their
Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend. We
pray that our Confirmandis may always be
living witnesses of the Gospel. We also
congratulate their parents and Sponsors on
this very special day.
We welcome and we thank Bishop Thomas
Donato, D.D., Regional Bishop for Hudson
County for celebrating the Sacrament of
Confirmation with us. We are also grateful to
Fr. Dave for his assistance at our
Confirmation liturgy. Finally, we thank Mrs.
Josephine Sarno and all our Confirmation
Catechists who worked so hard to prepare the
children of our parish for this sacrament.
I received a letter from Archbishop John J.
Myers informing me that Fr. Basil Lek has
been appointed Pastor of St. Valentine Church
effective November 5, 2014. We welcome Fr.
Basil to our Parish and we wish him all the
very best. Please include Fr. Basil in your
prayers as he begins his ministry and service
here at St. Valentine.
Finally, I wish to thank all of you for all your
prayers, friendship and support these past 14
years. I am grateful for the many grace-filled
and memorable years I spent here at St.
Valentine. You are always welcome to visit me
at St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City. I will
miss you all. You will also be invited to my
installation as Pastor of St. Aloysius Church. I
will let you know the exact date by next week.
Please pray for me as I always do for all of
you.
God bless,
Fr. Juancho
