Matches Resume – With the completion of Sight’N Days,
Black Powder, Rim Fire, High Power & Bench Rest
Matches will resume their regular shooting schedules this
month. Please check dates and times on the calendar or
contact individual RO’s if you have questions. Our thanks
to Dave Hartill (CRO) and all the RO’s who volunteered
their time to insure another successful and safe Sight’N
Days venue. Early reports (September only) show we had
72 members and 113 non-members using the rifle range
getting ready for the upcoming hunting season. Great job
to all!
Membership Renewals – It has now been over 90 days
since membership renewals were due. If you suddenly
discover that your gate code no longer works, that is
because it has been disabled. Access to club facilities is
now only possible by mailing in $96 to: RRGC, PO Box
1098, Winchester, OR 97495. Once your dues are
received, a new membership card will be mailed. Then
allow 3-4 days for your code to be re-activated.
October Newsletter – My apologies for the unfortunate
“calendar” error in last month’s issue. It appears the
September calendar was printed by mistake. Too late to
correct for those newsletters mailed, the best I could do was
to correct the mistake on our website version. We will try
not to do that again!
DEFENSIVE PISTOL

The DP shoot Saturday, October 4, brought the close of the
Roseburg Defensive Pistol season for 2014.
The
combination of favorable weather and the turnout of
enthusiastic participants could not have been better.
By request, a few of the stages from earlier this year were
repeated. Judging from the comments, many shooters
appreciated the opportunity to run through those scenarios
again. The shotgun stage challenged mobility with a long
gun (shotgun or pistol) while a particular pistol stage
offered perplexing close in and distant “threats”
simultaneously. Overall, this shoot was a great finish to a
very good season. Many thanks to all participants and
volunteers for their support of this year’s DP program! We
hope the next few months go well for you and we look
forward to seeing you again in the spring.
Roseburg Defensive Pistol is a community service program.
Its intent is to provide members of the community a venue
to practice, maintain, and improve skills with their personal
defense firearms without pressure or competition in a safe,
supervised environment. More information can be found on

The Defensive Pistol program will start up again the first
Saturday in April of 2015 (04/04/2015). Be sure to look for
an email reminder after the first of the year.
New 5 Stand Schedule

5 Stand continues to be popular, and we are going to open
on Friday mornings, starting in November for the daytime
shooting crowd. This will be in addition to our Wednesday
night shooting. We will no longer shoot on Sundays, but
Trap will still be open, and Winter Trap League will start in
January. Please check the calendar for 5 Stand times and
dates, as well as Holiday closures. We have heat, lights, a
covered shooting area, and have lots of fun shooting a
variety of target presentations. Get your shotgun and come
join us.

Cast Bullet Match

The next scheduled Cast Bullet Match is November 1st. What we shoot as far as match venue is kind of up to the weather.
Note: We will be starting at 100 yards during the winter months due to sometimes-foggy conditions in early AM. Let me
know if you are planning on attending so I can prepare targets before hand.
If you would be interested in helping at a match, that would be great and would give you an idea of what a match is all about.

Trap Happenings

As the leaves change and the weather gets cooler, it’s time to pull those shotguns out of your closet and come visit the Trap
fields again! We are starting to pick up on more shooting activities. Here are a few events to mark on your calendars.
November 2nd and December 7th are the Multiplex Shoot dates. We will start at 11 am with 50 singles, 50 handicap and
50 doubles. The club will be open at 10 am for a round or two of practice.
Wednesday, December 10th - 7 pm, will be our Annual Christmas Party. Dan and I will provide the chili. Please bring your
favorite snacks or goodies. We are planning on having a gift exchange. Please bring an unwrapped gift ($25 limit). We will
shoot game shoots (starts at 4 pm) until the chili is ready.
Sunday, December 14th, starting at 10 am, will be a Fun Shoot. We have planned three events:
Event #1 Slider – $25/shooter, 25 targets – Payout will be 50/30/20 minus targets
5 targets @ 18 yds, 5 targets @ 22 yds, 5 targets @ 24 yds, 5 targets @ 27 yds, and
5 targets @ 30 yds.
Event #2 – 30 Bird Triple Buddy Backer – $20/team, pick your own partner
Will throw a random doubles pair, then on REPORT a third target is thrown. Each shooter will have
two shots each in order to get all three targets. Payout will be 50/30/20 minus targets.
Event #3 – 60 Bird Buddy Backer – $20/team, pick your own partner (27 yards). Payout will be
50/30/20 minus targets.
Saturday, January 3 rd – will be another Multiplex shoot.
Sunday, January 4 th will be the first day of Winter League. For those of you who shot in last year’s league, please check
your email next month for more information on 2015 League INFO. If you did not participate in last year’s Winter League
and are interested in shooting this year - please call, email me or see me at the clubhouse (Wednesdays 5-8 pm or 1st / 3rd
Sundays, 10 am-2 pm.
As you can see there are a lot of exciting shooting events scheduled. Please check the club calendar on the website for dates
