Although there is no ideal injectable material, we now have a plethora of applicable implant materials for augmentation. Parallel to this development, a shift can be seen to ambulatory, office-based patient care. This is especially true for vocal fold augmentation procedures in patients with unilateral vocal fold paralysis. Our hands-on workshop will offer presentations on phonosurgery given by clinical experts, including videodemonstrations of typical cases, and discussion on excised laryngeal dissection specimens. All participants have the possibility to learn ‘hands-on’ how to inject into the vocal folds on excised cadaver larynges, using the most frequently applied techniques such as percutaneous and endoluminal approaches. Additionally, all injected specimens will be CT-scanned and images can be discussed in the afternoon. Our special guest, Dr. Ton Langeveld, MD, from Leiden, the Netherlands, will contribute not only with his professional clinical experience, but shows us how laryngeal injections are performed in his voice clinic. We welcome you to Hamburg and are looking forward to seeing you in November. Ton Langeveld, MD UKE Campus Markus M.
