With over 30 years experience we are at the forefront in the development of
subsea interconnect technology.
Involvement from prototype concept through to design and manufacture

Heavy body tow cable
The 660m long steel wire armour heavy tow body sonar cable was designed to be
towed behind a war ship hunting for submarines.
The hairy fairing on the outer of the umbilical is used for reducing the vortex and
increasing coefficients whilst being towed at 20 knots plus.
The swimmer detection system is able to detect and
locate swimmers and divers at ranges exceeding 800
metres .
Cerberus can be deployed as a single unit to provide
360° cover for ship protection by being slung from the
side of the vessel or built into the vessel’s hull.

4000 feet long communication cable
Three year R & D project between Hydro
Group and the Korean aerospace research
institute. The aerostat envelope required a
lightweight cable and connectors for an
operational height of 4000 ft.
The lightweight cable consisted of an aramid braid
for strength, fibre optics for data and camera
systems. The 10 ton breaking snatch load on a small
diameter lightweight cable made it very difficult to
manufacture.
