Breast Cancer Awareness Fun Run – 31 Oct, 0700-0830. Holloman Fitness Center – Dress in pink and come out for a fun race day! This will be a
predicted time race. Let us know how soon you can run it and WE will time you, no watches or timing devices for the runners. Prizes given for best costume

Zoo Boo – 25 Oct, 9am-12pm. Alameda Park Zoo – The event is open to the public and free. Treats, games and costume contests will be available. There
will be three age categories: 0-3; 4-7; 8-10 and prizes ranging from $10-$25 will be given to the top three winners in the categories of scariest, cutest and most
original in each age group. Registration for the costume contest is open at the Alamogordo Family Recreation Center and registration will continue through

Bundles for Babies - 28 Oct, 1300-1600. This Workshop is sponsored by AFAS. Emphasis on family finances with a new family member. Parenting
techniques, making fresh baby food and budgeting are some of the many topics covered. Attendees are given a free AFAS layette worth $75 for each new
baby. Part two covers: helping agencies, tax benefits of having children, college and other costs of having children, credit scores and debt ratio.

Step into the Past - Fire on the Dunes: How Humans Shaped the Gypsum Dunes – 1 Nov, 1pm – White Sands National Monument - Wind and water are
primarily responsible for shaping the gypsum dunefield. Human activities including the use of fire and mining have also contributed to the alteration of this
landscape. Park archeologist Allison Harvey will present the history of mineral extraction from the dunefield and provide a demonstration of the impact fire
has on this unique environment. Join Allison in the visitor center for this one-hour program. Program is free. POC: White Sands National Monument at 575479-6124

Youth & Teen Activities
•
Holloman Homeschool Group: Are you interested in getting together with other homeschoolers on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Youth Center on
Holloman AFB? Bring the kids and join us. Currently we meet for socialization, playing in the gym and rec room, and doing some arts and crafts. We can
have classes such as cooking, art, drama, PE, Photography, Digital Art, Science and Math labs, etc. It all depends on what the group wants. Please spread the
word to all your homeschool friends who have access to HAFB and post it where others might see it. Please send an email to [email protected].

Baby Bop: Walking – 2 years old
This is a parent-child movement class that meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:45am-10:15am at the Youth and Teen Center. A punch card must be purchased
for $15 and that includes 5 attendances. Punch Cards can be purchased at the Youth and Youth and Teen Center.

Creative Movement: 2 ½ - 3 years old
Dancers 1st dance class by themselves! This is a structured dance class that starts to explore the harmony of music and movement. In this class dancers will learn
the fundamental skills needed for a dance class. Tues 10:30am - 11:30am or Thurs 5:00pm-6:00pm. Dress attire: Pink Leotard, Pink Tights and Pink Ballet
Shoes. Dancers may wear dance skirts or tutus.

Princess Ballet: 3 - 5 years old
This is a structured dance class where dancers will learn the basics of ballet through fairytale story time, princess music, make-believe and props.
Tues 5:00pm - 6:00pm or Wed 10:30am - 11:30am. Dress attire: Pink Leotard, Pink Tights and Pink Ballet Shoes. Dancers may wear their favorite princess
dresses, tutus or skirts as long as they can dance in them (please wear leotard and tights under).

Dance Basics: 4 - 5 years old
This is a structured dance class where dancers will have fun learning the three basic forms of dance; Ballet, Tap and Jazz and their differences.
Thurs 10:30am-11:30am. Dress attire: Black Leotard, Tan Tights, Black Tap Shoes, Black Ballet Shoes. Dancers may wear dance shorts, skirts/tutus or capri
pants over their leotards.

Triple Threat: Level I 5-6 years old or Level II 7-8 years old
A structured dance class including Ballet, Tap and Jazz. In this class dancers will have fun learning the three forms of dance and their differences. Dancers will
expand and work on perfecting the basic techniques in all three genres. Level I (5-6 years old) Wed 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Level II (7-8 years old) Tues 6:00pm 7:00pm. Dress attire: Black Leotard, Tan Tights, Black Tap Shoes, Black Ballet Shoes. Dancers may wear dance shorts or capri pants over their leotards.

Jazz Pom: 7 - 11 years old
This is a high energy, structured dance class which focuses on jazz technique combined with sharp precession movement and lines accented by pom-pons. This
class is a dance team style of dance. Think cheer motions mixed with dance. Thurs 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Dress attire: Black Leotard, Tan Tights, Tan Slip On Jazz
Shoes. Dancers may wear dance shorts or capri pants over their leotards.

Jazz Lyrical: Level I 9-12 years old or Level II 13-16 years old
The ultimate dance class which focuses on the two most popular styles of dance: Jazz and Lyrical. Level I (9-12 years old) Wed 6:00pm-7:00pm. Level II (13-16
years old) Wed 7:00pm-8:00pm. Dress attire: Black Leotard, Tan Tights, Tan Slip On Jazz Shoes. Dancers may wear dance shorts or capri pants over their
leotards.

CCAF degrees: The new AFI 36-2349 states that if you are 50% complete (32 credits) with your CCAF degree (check your Web Progress Report on the
AFVEC) you cannot start another associated degree plan.

