About Our School
The Advanced Placement Academy at Burke
High School is a county-wide magnet program
offering a rigorous, relevant and challenging
Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum for high school
students. Students earn college credits while still in
high school and may participate in dual credit courses
at Trident Technical College and the College of
Charleston.
A partnership with the College of Charleston allows
Academy students to have access to the Addlestone
College Library during the school year and to
participate in advanced level, project-based learning
activities. Academy students are involved in the college’s theatre productions and music activities,
Burke’s Culinary Art cooking classes, and MUSC’s
Lean Team Program.
Completed applications (Parts A and B) should be
submitted to the school by Saturday, November 1, 2014.
As a county-wide magnet, AP Academy accepts
applications from any resident of Charleston County.

responsible for contacting the school and making those

admission must commit to attending a week-long
