Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year. The teachers and staff have an exciting year planned for
your child. As a District, we have upgraded our student management system to a product called
schooltool. A prominent feature of schooltool is its Parent Portal. As a parent you will have the ability
to view your child's attendance, schedule, and demographic information beginning October 9, 2014.
A new schooltool account and password have been generated for your use. You can access the
schooltool Parent Portal by clicking on the option under Quick Links on the Groton Central School
website - www.grotoncs.org
Instructions for accessing the schooltool Parent Portal:
Please login to schooltool using your email address as your username and the following password:
[%Password%]
After logging in - you will see a screen containing three tabs:
Students: A listing of all students that "belong" to the logged-in parent. If you have more than
one child in school, you will see all the children associated with you. When you click on the
"select" button next to a child, you will see that child's information including:
o Contacts
o Schedule
o Attendance
o Grades (select View -- Marking Period Grades or Progress Report Grades)
o Assignments (available for Jr./Sr. high school students)
o Assessments (state scores from last year)
o Letters (generated by the school to you)
Campus: general information
Account: Use this tab to change your password (must contain at least 6 characters -- one
must be a number) or view previous log-in records.
When you are ready to leave the session, click 'Logout' in the upper right corner, or simply close the
browser.
If you need to edit your email address or any other information in the district's database, please
contact the school’s main office.
Remember, if you have more than one child in school, you only need to contact one school to have
the information updated for each child.
If you feel this account was created in error, please contact the District Office at (607) 898-5301.
