They should have research experience, with at least two (2) publications in refereed journals or two chapters in scholarly books. They should show evidence of continuing research activity. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate students and undertake further research in their areas of specialization and also participate in Department’s activities. LECTURER, DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY & SOCIAL WORK -1 POSTAC/10/311/14- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Sociology with specialization in Social Work from a recognized university. Applicants who possess a Masters degree in Sociology with specialization in Social Work and have at least three (3) years teaching experience at University level and are registered for a PhD degree in the relevant area will also be considered. TUTORIAL FELLOW, DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY & SOCIAL WORK - 1 POST- AC/10/312/14- (CHSS) Applicants should be holders of a Masters degree in Sociology or Social Work from a recognized university. They must show evidence of having registered for a PhD degree in relevant area. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Sociology and Social Work courses at undergraduate level. TUTORIAL FELLOW, CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE- 1 POST- AC/10/313/14- (CHSS) Applicants should be holders of a Masters degree in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics (Chinese Language) or a Masters degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from a recognized university. Those with evidence of having registered for a PhD degree in relevant area will have an added advantage. They must be Kenyan citizens. They must be able to communicate effectively in Chinese, English and Kiswahili languages. Those with at least one year’s teaching 1 experience in Chinese and have specialized in China or Chinese area will have an added advantage. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at undergraduate level. GRADUATE ASSISTANT, DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICS & LANGUAGES1 POST- AC/10/314/14- (CHSS) Applicants must be holders of at least a Master of Arts degree in Arabic Language Studies from a recognized university. They must show evidence of academic capacity to effectively assist in the teaching of Arabic Linguistics and Arabic Literature at undergraduate level. TRADE FOREMAN GRADE AB, CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT- 1 POST- AD/10/315/14- (R&T) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent, Government trade Test (GTT) I or its equivalent in Plumbing. They must have at least 3 years working experience in a busy public institution. Those with at least a Certificate in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution and at least 8 years working experience and a good report from current Section Head in a busy public instition will also be considered. ASSISTANT SECRETARY GRADE A,-SCHOOL OF LAW -1 POST-AD/10/316/14(CHSS) Applicants should be holders of a KCSE Grade C or KCE Div. III or its equivalent qualification with a Credit in English language. In addition they must have passed the following subjects offered by the Kenya National Examinations Council or equivalent examining body:Business English II Commerce II Secretarial Duties II Office Management III Shorthand 80 wpm or Audio Typing III Typewriting 50 wpm They must be computer literate. TRAINEE TECHNOLOGIST GRADE III/IV, SCHOOL, OF THE ARTS & DESIGN -3 POSTS- AD/10/317/14- (CAE) Applicants should be holders of at least a KCSE Grade C plus 4 credits in relevant subjects. Those who have specialized or trained in Textile, Photography or Typography will have an added advantage.
