Our spotlight this month is on our own Chairperson
elect, Marty Pay Farmers Insurance! Marty holds an
MBA, CLU and LUTC-F designation and is one of
the most experienced insurance professionals in Kern
County.
Marty started with Farmers as an agent in Sherman
Oaks in 1980 and moved his office to Tehachapi
in 1990. He has been blessed with an incredible
experienced staff three of which have had ten or more
years experience with Farmers, Cindy Reniche, Office
Manager Ginger Patz and Becky Bourland.
The newest members of the staff are Marissa Sovell
who is a customer service rep., John McKeehan who
does Marketing and Sue Wonacott who specializes
in Medical, Life Insurance and Long Term Care. The
office is predicated on service being the name of the
game. In insurance Marty has stated, “you're dealing
with an intangible, service is the product and then
performance when an incident occurs!”
The office is only one of two in Kern County
that have achieved the prestigious Toppers Club for
Farmers Insurance over 20 years. They have been
Agent of the Year 7 times in 3 different decades. Marty
also teaches one night a week at the University of
Phoenix. He teaches Business, Management, Public
Speaking and Critical Thinking. He also has a radio
show on four stations in Kern County interviewing
people from Steve Forbes to Newt Gingrich and
Thomas Sowell.
The office is open from 8:30-5:30 five days a week
at 121 East F St. in Tehachapi.

The Chairman’s Circle offers four specific
packages ranging from $1,000 to $7,000.
It is the Chamber’s goal to help you develop an annual package of benefits that
will raise the visibility of your company in the community. By strategically planning your marketing and
advertising activities in these areas, you can develop an individual campaign that will deliver bottom line
benefits.
Chairman’s Circle members enjoy the convenience of a one-time all-inclusive transaction that insures
representation at Chamber events, in its publications and on the Chamber’s website. This is a wonderful
way to plan your budget each year. The Chairman’s Circle will not only let you plan for your sponsorships of
annual events, but will also avoid those many calls individuals receive to gather support for the Chamber’s
many great events.
Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the Chairman’s Circle. I invite you to arrange a
visit to discuss the benefits and privileges of membership in this special group of members who have made
an annual commitment to support the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce through sponsorships and
marketing opportunities. I look forward to working with you on a program to enhance your company’s
recognition and visibility in our community.

14th Annual Christmas Parade "Christmas in Candyland"
The Holidays are a time for families and friends to gather. On Saturday, December 6th at 5:30 p.m. The Greater
Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce is planning the 14th Annual Christmas parade “Christmas in Candyland”. The Parade
route will be down “F” Street beginning at Mulberry Street.
This event is planned so the community can gather together for visiting old friends, making new friends, drinking hot
chocolate, watching the parade, sharing a meal, enjoying the lights, singing carols, strolling from business to business doing
your Christmas Shopping. This is to be an exciting holiday event filled with community spirit for all ages. Wouldn’t a few
snowflakes complete the magic?
Last year's parade was such a success that you don't want to miss out on this year's event! Parade Applications are
available at the Chamber Office, 209 E. Tehachapi Blvd. or by clicking here. Deadline for applications is Monday,
November 24, 2014.
In order to make the parade successful, it takes volunteers. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to
be a part of the parade committee. Contact the Chamber office at 661-822-4180 for more information. All volunteers are
welcome.
Thank you to our Christmas Parade Sponsors:
