THEME/ACTIVITY:
Investiture Ceremony for new youth and adults
The purpose is to invest a new member as a Scout in the Worldwide
Brotherhood of Scouting. It is in this ceremony they make the Scout
Promise to the Troop Scouter. In turn, the Troop Scouter pledges to help
the Scouts do their best to keep the promise, setting up a personal bond
between them.

(Parents please bring a plate to add to the refreshment table)

Scouts ‘Opening’ (Section link) Scouts remain at Alert during individual ceremonies
Scouter Judi calls Group ‘Alert’
Colour Party (Venturers) presents the Colours (Flags)
Flag raised, Honour Salute
Beavers come in and do their Opening, followed by Cubs & Scouts who do the same
Beavers commence Investiture, followed by Cubs, Scouts & Venturers while Beavers
& Cubs sit quietly in a circle (all move to one side of the room, when they are completed
their section investiture)

Scouter Judi calls the first Patrol to begin their Investiture ceremony.
Patrol Leaders will present the new Scouts to Scouter Judi
New Scouts repeat their promise to all
New Scouts place their left hand on the Canada Flag (lowered before them) while
repeating their promise
Scouter Judi calls parents of new Scouts to come forward and stand with their Scout
Parents apply the Uniform Scarf, while accepting the 12th Richmond Badges on behalf of
their Scout.
New Cubs are presented
Cubs move aside while Investiture continues for the Scouts, Venturers and Leaders.
