Onewhero Area School Sports Prize Giving: This year Sports Prize giving will be held in two separate ceremonies. Minor awards will be handed out on Wednesday afternoon 5th of November from 1:30 to 3:00pm. Letters will be sent home to prize recipients for this ceremony. Parents are welcome to attend. There will be a second Sports Prize giving on Thursday 6th November at 6pm for all major awards. This includes Sports man and Sports woman for Year one to six, Year seven to eight and Year nine to thirteen. Also the major awards for each team. Students who participated in any School Sports teams are expected to attend. Nikau Palms: The Physical Education Department are looking for Nikau Palms to decorate the hall for the Onewhero Area School Sports Awards. Firewood for Year Ten Camp: The Year Ten Camp students are spending a week getting back to nature on Selwyn Phillip’s farm. As part of the camp students will be cooking their breakfast and dinner on campfires. Any donations of firewood to fuel the campfires would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to provide a bag of firewood please contact Mrs Jones on 09 2328866 Ext 711. Onewhero Area School Sports Development Programme: Applications for the Sports Development Programme are up on the website for 2015 places. There will only be eight students selected for next year’s programme. All applications need to be handed in to Mrs Jones before the 1st of December. A reference from a coach/manager which includes a statement on the student’s training ethic and the student’s commitment towards performance improvement should accompany the application. Orienteering: The Counties Manukau Orienteering Club Summer Series of orienteering is up and running. Each session is available to all participants, including new comers.
