Bayswater School presents “What is a Schoolgen School”
On Friday 31 October the school was proud to share our Schoolgen journey. The following was written by Magggie Twaddle, the
Schoolgen Team Leader at Genesis Energy.
Our new GM of Retail David Goadby visited Bayswater School
which is our leading Schoolgen School in Auckland. The
students presented to him and his guests all about the special
things they had learnt as a Schoolgen school. Former students
who are now in Year 7 and 8 returned to their former school to
impress and show off what a difference the Schoolgen
programme had made to their lives. Monitoring the solar
generation and the electricity use in the school was a great
learning experience. They love the Schoolgen books and are
pictured here singing the song from the latest Schoolgen reader
‘Tui Sings the Sun Song.’
Jasper shared how the Schoolgen website shows us how much
power we are generating through the solar panels. Towards
the end of the year the team will calculate the savings we have
made over the year.
Jump Jam
The Jump Jam team (Bayswater Bouncers) arrived in
Bethlehem, Tauranga ready at 8am Saturday morning. They
were first to perform and should be very proud of themselves:
they gave it their all with bounds of energy and loud calls! They
were wonderful ambassadors for Bayswater School and
received an “Excellence in Sportsmanship” certificate. They
were thrilled to meet Brett Fairweather (seen here with the
team), the creator of Jump Jam and star of the DVDs!

2014 Board of Trustees Mid-Term Election Results
At the close of nominations, at noon on Friday 31st October, we had received two valid
nominations for the two parent representative vacancies. As the number of nominations
equalled the number of vacancies a vote will not need to be taken and I thereby declare
Sidney Anderson and Michael Kwok duly elected to the Board of Trustees.
Welcome and congratulations.
Sidney and Michael will take up office for a three year term commencing on Friday 7th
November.
