The Committee’s responsibility is to: Our commission is to ensure that the residents of Lerum, Alingsås, Vårgårda, and Herrljunga have access to the health and medical care they need. – Identify and analyze the health and medical care needs of the population. We order primary healthcare, dental care, hospital care and habilitation and public health initiatives for approximately 96 500 inhabitants in Mittenälvsborg. – Serve as a population representative. – Promote better public health. – Prioritize between different needs and patient groups. – Order health and medical care from public and private care providers through care agreements. – Monitor the care agreements. Mittenälvsborg Göteborg, nord-östra Göteborg Hisingen Göteborg centrum -väster The Committee promotes good and equal health and care on equal conditions for everyone, and cooperates on a local level with inhabitants, municipalities, associations, the Social Insurance Office and many other authorities and NGOs. Partille, Härryda, Mölndal Sjuhärad THE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HÄLSOOCH SJUKVÅRDSNÄMNDERNAS HEALTH AND MEDICAL CARE COMMITTEE ANSVARSOMRÅDEN As support for the work of the Health and Medical Care Committee, there is an administration organization at the Health and Medical Care Office Borås. Population representative Our main commission and responsibility is to represent the population in Mittenälvsborg. One of the Committee’s strategic goals is to strengthen the involvement of the population through good dialogue and communication. The dialogue between the population and politicians may take place in many different ways; among other things, the Committee has spoken to youths at upper secondary schools and met people at markets and squares. For many years there has also been regular dialogue with pensioner groups and representatives of people with disabilities. The dialogue is important and helps to: – Strengthen the democracy. – Increase the opportunities of people to be involved. – Improve the basis for decisions and ordering care. – Convey knowledge and increase confidence in the political process.
