New M5 St Peters Interchange
Community update | November 2014
The Australian and NSW governments are building
WestConnex, a 33 kilometre motorway, linking the M4
and M5 motorways for the first time. WestConnex will
slash travel times for motorists and support thousands of
new jobs. When completed it will connect Sydney’s west,
south-west, CBD, airport and port precincts and include
a tunnel between St Peters and Beverly Hills, with an
interchange at St Peters.

The St Peters Interchange will be built mainly on the site
of the Alexandria Landfill and open in 2019. Connections
to the surrounding road network will be delivered primarily
using long standing road reservations.
The interchange layout will be identified after an
international tender process is complete. The design
will be presented for community comment as part of an
Environmental Impact Statement exhibition in late 2015.
Investigatory drilling is currently underway as a normal
part of motorway planning and does not reflect an exact
alignment. We will use this to help determine the design
of the interchange and surrounding connections.

reservation corridors.
