To help us understand what is expected of us as pilgrims on earth are the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy shown below: LORD, remember your faithful departed. In baptism they died with Christ; May they also share his resurrection, When Christ will raise their mortal bodies And make them like his own in glory. Welcome into your kingdom Our departed brothers and sisters, THE CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY And all who have died in your friendship. ! Feed the hungry ! Give drink to the thirsty ! Clothe the naked ! Shelter the homeless ! Visit the sick ! Visit the imprisoned ! Bury the dead There we hope to share in your glory When every tear will be wiped away. On that day we shall see you, Our God, as you are. We shall become like you And praise you forever THE SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY Through Christ our Lord, ! Admonish the sinner ! Instruct the ignorant ! Counsel the doubtful ! Comfort the sorrowful ! Bear wrongs patiently ! Forgive all injuries ! Pray for the living and the dead From whom all good things come. Amen. May we renew our desire to work together as the Christian pilgrims on earth to glorify God and bring blessings to others in the love of Jesus. Fr.
