THE COMMEMORATION OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED
“ALL SOULS’ DAY”
DEAR PARISHIONERS:
A PRAYER For ALL SOULS
As we come to the Solemnity of All Saints November 1st and All
Souls November 2nd we think of our Catholic understanding of the
communion of saints: the spiritual union of the pilgrims on earth,
the dead who are being purified, and the blessed in heaven (see
the Catholic Catechism #962).
To help us understand what is expected of us as pilgrims on earth
are the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy shown below:
LORD, remember your faithful departed.
In baptism they died with Christ;
May they also share his resurrection,
When Christ will raise their mortal bodies
And make them like his own in glory.
Welcome into your kingdom
Our departed brothers and sisters,
THE CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY
And all who have died in your friendship.
! Feed the hungry
! Give drink to the thirsty
! Clothe the naked
! Shelter the homeless
! Visit the sick
! Visit the imprisoned
! Bury the dead
There we hope to share in your glory
When every tear will be wiped away.
On that day we shall see you,
Our God, as you are.
We shall become like you
And praise you forever
THE SPIRITUAL WORKS OF MERCY
Through Christ our Lord,
! Admonish the sinner
! Instruct the ignorant
! Counsel the doubtful
! Comfort the sorrowful
! Bear wrongs patiently
! Forgive all injuries
! Pray for the living and the dead
From whom all good things come.
Amen.
May we renew our desire to work together as the Christian
pilgrims on earth to glorify God and bring blessings to others in
the love of Jesus.

STEW ARDSHIP REFLECTION
Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the
faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and
mercy are upon his elect, and he watches over his holy
ones.” - W isdom of Solomon 3:9. Here’s the ironic thing
about people who are generous. Those that give freely and
cheerfully do not do it to be rewarded. They do it to show
their love for God and their neighbors. Yet, because of their
generosity, they typically are given m ore than they gave
away!

Felicidad está m as relacionada a ver
