the Visitor Card attached to the visitor name tag, and place it in the offering plate, or hand it to an usher, and be sure to come to the Welcome Table

Today . . .
Today is Redeemer’s Veteran’s Recognition Day. Come to the
Rector’s Class at 10:15 AM, where we will meet with the children
from our Sunday School and welcome Tuskegee Airman, LTC
(USAF ret.) George E. Hardy, who will share with us from his
experience as a member of that renowned group of AfricanAmerican pilots who so influenced this country.
You received an “Investment/Pledge Card” this week in the
mail. Please bring it, together with your “Take Your Place Card,”
to one of the masses next weekend, when we will conclude this
season of celebration and stewardship. It is especially important
this week to pray about how you might take your place in one of
more than eighty active ministries and how you can invest in the
mission and work of the parish. Copies of the “Take Your Place
Card” and the “Investment/Pledge Card” are also available at
redeemersarasota.org and in the narthex.
Redeemer’s Cub Scout Pack 24 Annual Wreath Sales continue
today. Our Cub Scouts will be on the veranda after both 9 and 11
AM masses. The wreaths will be available for pick-up on 30 November. Arrangements can be made to have your wreaths delivered to out of town relatives or friends. We will also be accepting
payments for those wreaths ordered last week. Thanks for supporting our Cubs.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS: Fisher House – As a part of our ongoing commitment to care for our troops, we are again providing the
parish the privilege of contributing to Fisher House – Bay Pines
Veterans Hospital. Fisher House Foundation is best known for a
network of comfort homes where military and veterans’ families
can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
Daughters of the King will meet tomorrow, Monday, 10 November. The meeting begins with mass at 10:00 AM. All ladies of the
parish are invited to attend.
This week at LOGOS we’ll look at Daniel and the “Heroic Faithfulness” he demonstrated to discover a modern-day hero who
demonstrates the same, and talk about what kind of superhero
we can be for God. LOGOS, Redeemer’s mid-week event for children, K-5th, 4-6:30, includes Bible study, playtime, study hall,
worship through arts (choir, art, or Suzuki prep), and dinner.
Tuition for the year is $100; limited scholarships are available.

“Children of the Day,” our Fall Bible study offering for women
(Beth Moore’s DVD series) continues on Wednesdays through 17
December, 6:30 – 8:30 PM, in the Halton Chapel. All women are

"Welcome Back" Homecoming Potluck and Dance! Saturday,
15 November, immediately following the 5:30 PM mass, enjoy a
potluck dinner and Homecoming Dance in Gillespie Hall. Dan
Cartlidge will provide the music from many decades. You may
dance, sit back and relax, and enjoy the fellowship of old friends
and new! You are welcome to dress up according to your decade. Please bring a main dish, vegetable, salad, or dessert. In the
spirit of Thanksgiving, please also bring a staple food item for the
Hispanic Food Pantry. RSVP: Please call the Parish office,

Alzheimer’s Support Group – Did you know that 17,500 people
are afflicted with dementia in Sarasota County alone? Perhaps
you are personally experiencing this with a family member or
close friend and would like to come to our support group. Our
next meetings will be Thursdays, 20 November and 18 December

Solemn Evensong next Sunday will be a celebration of the
youth of Redeemer. The Canterbury Girls’ Choir will sing Service
in C minor for Treble Voices by George Dyson; the anthem, for
harp, organ, and choir, is Eucharistica (Deep in my heart I bear
my Lord) by Pablo Casals. Come to hear our youth choir’s musical
offering and to witness the induction of our novice acolytes into
Redeemer’s Acolyte Corps!

Many thanks to all of you who made the last Blood Drive successful by exceeding the 10-unit requirement to keep the Blood
Drive at Redeemer. Please mark your calendars for the next Blood
Drive on Sunday, 23 November 2014.
One of the best things about fall in Florida is being able to still
play outside, and Redeemer “Families with Children” is celebrating just that. FWC will combine with our Middle and High School
youth for a Redeemer Kickball Event on Sunday, 30 November.
Everyone meets at Red Rock Park, 3987 Camino Real, Sarasota,
3:30-5:30 PM. Even if you are not planning to play, come join in
for a great afternoon. Red Rock Park has swings, playground
equipment, plenty of shade, and lots of parking. Everyone is
asked to bring a “munchie” to share, and the beverage (adult or
otherwise) of your choice. Get your kicking leg ready, and join us!

The parish family extends its sympathy to Rosemary Chase in the death of her
mother, Amalie Wolf, who departed this life on 6 November 2014. May her soul
and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace,
and may light perpetual shine upon them.

SR EYC RETURNS! That’s right, after a little change of pace for All
Saints’ Day, we’re getting ready for our Sr. High folks in Gillespie Hall
tonight! Fr. David’s week just didn’t feel right without Sr. EYC. We’ll see
everyone there tonight at 6:30PM until 8:00!
Coffee and Community is a fellowship opportunity for our Senior
High folks. We’ve been meeting at Pastry Art on Main St. at 4pm on
Tuesdays. We’d like to start talking about C.S. Lewis’s Screwtape Letters. Want to join? Just show up! Want a book? Let Fr. David know!
Jr. EYC is a one way ticket to Awesome Town! Our Middle School crew
have been supplying Wednesday night after Wednesday night of glorious
and majestic hang time and pizza eating. We’re talking about what it
means to put God first over the next few weeks. Have questions about
that? In Middle School? See you at 6:00PM until 7:30PM in the Turner
Dabney Room (1 TD Center)!
Friday Mornings are not for sleeping. They are for hanging out with the
best people ever. At 6:15 AM on Fridays, we’re reading Scripture together and eating some awesome breakfasts. Don’t worry, you’ll be out the

Youth Evensong is next week! The Canterbury Girls’ Choir will present
the musical offering, and new Acolytes need to sign the book! 16 November is your chance to hear our amazing youth sing, and to see our novice
acolytes be inducted formally into our Acolyte corps! We’ll have a massive procession and we’ll fill the place with song and smoke in celebration of the many ways our young people minister to our parish. Pot luck to
follow! Mark your calendars!

The Heart to Heart Women’s Book Club will sponsor an allparish book discussion and dinner on Thursday, 15 January
2015, at 6:30 PM in Gillespie Hall. This year Redeemer men’s
book group, Books and Beyond, will join us in putting on this
event! The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest
for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel James Brown will
be discussed after a festive dinner is enjoyed by all. The fee for
this special event is $10.00 per person. You may pay by cash or
check in the parish office, or if you wish, to pay online at redeemersarasota.org, sign up and pay $11.50 using PayPal. A full dinner, with beverages and dessert, and a cash wine bar will precede

The BMO Harris Bank parking garage is available for church parking on Sundays
until 1:00 PM. The garage is locked at that time, and any cars left inside will be
locked in.
The nursery for infants and toddlers is available during the 9 and 11 AM masses
every Sunday.
Those
Those persons who find it difficult to come to the altar to receive Holy Communion
are asked to inform one of the ushers, who will then see that Communion is
brought to your pew.
If you have fami
family members in the active military please call the parish office to
have them put on our prayer list.
Listening devices for the hearinghearing-impaired may be obtained from an usher. The
Hard of Hearing Assistance System operates on a frequency of 72.9 for those whose
hearing aids have the capability to pick it up. For those who have a T-Coil receiver
in their hearing aid, Redeemer has an Induction Loop system installed. Personal
earbuds may be purchased in the parish office.
